Another great year for the quadmaster Paul, Schan, Neo and Holiday. Just terrific stuff guys.

Great poster, Chris.
All of yours are, no surprise,

If you thought those were good, just wait until you see CSM's epic, secret stash of Top Gun gear.  rofl1

Thanks Zorba.  When are you going to join the fun and consolidate all your 2011 stuff in this thread?

Nice Newmans, Mr. Tatum.  He's a legend.

Cool King Kong, Rick.  I still don't understand why all the hubbub surrounding King Kong stuff, but that one is definitely a winner.  thumbup

Sorry Rich, I guess I'm just part of the new school with films.  In my second Freshman year at FSU, we watched it in "Multi-Cultural Film class" and wrote a paper on it.  I have zero recollection of the paper but vaguely remember learning about how it is an iconic movie.  After reading this review by Glenn Andreiev during my 30 second Google research, I can see why many consider it to be like The Matrix (on an even higher level of course) of yesteryear, and after thinking about it, it would make sense how the historical aspect combined with the great art make a lot of the gear for it epic.

King Kong is more in line with the legendary status of films, like GWTW, Ben Hur, Birth of a Nation etc than it is the Matrix. Heretic!!!

it's hard for me to add to "what I bought this year" because I'm years behind in photography of my collection, and I only want to use pics I shoot myself. below are a couple pics.. in addition to these items a short list of buys includes French Grrandes for Eyes Without a Face, Ipcress File (red face style), Lady in the Lake I got an insert, TC and some scene cards, from Bruce a Japanese Big Sleep poster, from Heritage a Blue Dahlia 3sh (Spanish language US poster), a few 1950s Harryhausen posters found their way here, I picked up a lobby set for Blue Dahlia (I had 5 cards, needed the Lake cards, so I bought a set & sold my dupes), from Bruce, Heritage and elsewhere I copped quite a number of posters & lobby cards for my gambling collection, from various sources I picked up a number of French Grrrrandes from the 1930s & 40s. From a guy on ebay I picked up a number of US stills from Orphee & other Jean Cocteau films (Orphee is among my top favorite films. like in my personal top 20). Still for Orphee are as scarce as hen's teeth. I'm lucky to have both styles of Fr Grrandes + some original release French stills as well as pieces from other nations.. still need that UK Quad. Night of the Hunter - best card, Cool Hand Luke egg card, City for Conquest TC, Jailhouse Rock - TC & Jail card.. I mean.. I got several hundreds of pieces for my collection this year.. that's what makes it so fun!
