So (if Ted and I are right) - you know you're a poster junkie when you can pick out Veronica Lake from the back of her head (and you never had a good story about when and how you saw the back of her head )

How about when your measuring stick for the cost of various items becomes what poster it could have been?
Like............"well, that just cost me a Lawrence of Arabia 40x60" (you don't even want to know what that was)
or, "there went a 3rd Man one sheet" (cooler hand at a poker table)

a long time ago at comic book conventions we used to play poker at night & settle up with comic books in the dealers room in the morning. I recall taking a Superman #2 off a guy's board and man was he crying (it was like $800 at the time)

First time this has ever happened to me (on a flop) in a poker game Rich..........
2nd hand after I sat down at a 5-10 table, I pick up 10-10 and call one preflop raiser. There were 4 other callers at $45. The flop came 10-9-9. After a couple of callers to my flop raise, I went all in after the turn. The initial preflop raiser (who had me covered) had 9-9.

My wife and I have eaten for free once a month over 12 monthsin a fine dining restaurant, I've enjoyed free wine, travel and so on - contra is alive and well in my house!

I've seen it many times in different forms how about holding 6h7h, the flop comes 8h9h10h and you never had a hand?? I was holding the 67 and what's stranger is that that has actually happened to me twice and both times I was holding the 67hearts I've seen it all in poker over 35 years and if it happens again today, it seems just as #@^%#$&*$

That would have been preferable. I'd have been on the losing end of a jackpot hand. It would have paid about 25k on that night. Had a hit the case 10 on the hand mentioned above, it would have paid 10k.

Well, you cant escape them at most casinos. Where I play, $1 from the small blind from every hand goes into the jackpot. You have to pay the blind, and they drop it regardless. You dont place a separate bet for it. But I agree, anytime you can avoid it, you are better off. They pay 50% for the hand loser, 20% to the winner, and 30% split to everyone else dealt a hand.

you can easily escape it here in Vegas.
people love them.. I kno wthey're a rip-off
all that money sits in casino bank accounts (by law in NV & CA) and collects interest that the casinos get off the top in NV the casinos however are not allowed to take any of the jackpot money for themselves, while in Cali, the casinos can take something along the lines of 30% for administration fees. That's big money. One time, I figured the Commerce Club was "administrating up to $2m a month from Jackpot money. That's just one casino
but the biggest reason it's a rip is that the money would otherwise be in circulation and the winners would be winning it

Haha how's about a giant squid attacking the galleon!? Only kidding, me and my mates have the occasional poker night, love it. It's a tenner in and the winner takes all... and onto the next game. I'm shite btw

Haha how's about a giant squid attacking the galleon!? The best I could do is a giant squid getting ready to attack the galleon. I didn't want to disrupt the balance of the piece. Sorry.
