Did you know... that in addition to auctioning more items than anyone else, we also auction LOTS of high dollar items, and we recently added a "top 800 results by year" section to our Auction History that gives visual proof?
Some people mostly think of us as the auction that auctions lots and lots of affordable movie paper (this year alone, we will auction over 50,000 items for between $1 and $14, and our leading competitor has never auctioned even a single item for less than $15, thanks to their outrageous $14 minimum buyer's premium.
But we ALSO auction lots and lots of high dollar items, ones that range from the high hundreds to many thousands, and we auction them year in and year out! Our Auction History now has a new section that allows you to view the top 800 results from each year in a completely "sort-able" and searchable gallery format. Plus on the main Top 800 page, you can see the top 5 items from each year at a glance, and it covers every single year that we've auctioned movie paper (starting with 1990!), and each year on the page is a link that will take you to its completely searchable and "sort-able" gallery containing the highest priced 800 items for that year.

Here is the main Top 800 page: http://www.emovieposter.com/sales/top800.php
And here are our current top 800 results from 2011: http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/topitems/2011/archive.html

Look at all the many expensive items we have auctioned (often for top prices, and most often far higher than the results of our competitors, when you compare "apples to apples and oranges to oranges"!) and you will realize that not only are we THE auction to turn to when you have LOTS of items to auction, but we are also THE auction to turn to when you have EXPENSIVE single items to auction!

How about a top by date of poster, not date of sale?

Hey Dale, if you are married, when you take out the trash without being asked, and you tell your wife, does she say "How about making the beds and vaccuuming?"

Did you know that we recently added a "top 800 results by decade (in which the movie was made)" section to our Auction History?
Some people mostly think of us as the auction that auctions lots and lots of affordable movie paper (this year alone, we will auction over 50,000 items for between $1 and $14, and our leading competitor has never auctioned even a single item for less than $15, thanks to their outrageous $14 minimum buyer's premium.
But we ALSO auction lots and lots of high dollar items, ones that range from the high hundreds to many thousands, and we auction them year in and year out! Our Auction History now has a new section that allows you to view the top 800 results from each decade (in which the movie was made) in a completely "sort-able" and searchable gallery format. Plus on the main Top 800 by decade page, you can see the top 5 items from each decade at a glance, and it covers every single decade of posters from which we've auctioned paper (starting with the 1870s and continuing to the 2010s!), and each year on the page is a link that will take you to its completely searchable and "sort-able" gallery containing the highest priced 800 items for that decade.

Here is the main Top 800 page: http://www.emovieposter.com/sales/decades.php
And here are our current top 800 results from the 1970s (to pick a sample decade): http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/4/decade/197/archive.html

I notice that for each decade we head back in time the top selling item for anyone decade is superseded in value by the one a decade earlier until we essentially come to the silent era, would you say this is a fairly standard trend across all auction houses or just yours?

That IS how it is everywhere, and will likely stay that way for quite some time.

Didn't realize that faded War of the Worlds 1/2 sheet STILL sold for $17,000!
