As a result of one of my new businesses going through a major growth spurt I find I just cannot dedicate the time to growing my website www.thevintagemovieposternetwork.com so I have decided to sell it so someone who can take it on to the next level.

For those of you in the business of vintage movie posters etc (as a dedicated collector or even a reseller) then this site may just suit you as either an addition to your current website or a new one or you can partner up with someone else and run it as a joint venture - up to you of course.

I will likely use the money to fund my movie poster collecting habit anyway, a 30 year habit is hard to break  Wink

So here it is lock, stock and barrel.

What do you get?

1. A completed, working and fully hosted information and directory website dedicated to vintage movie posters; included is the balance of the hosting already paid for until June 20 2012*.

2. You also get transferred to your ownership three registered and working domains names: www.thevintagemovieposternetwork.com, www.vintagemovieposternetwork.com and www.tvmpn.com. The first domain is registered until May 2012, the other two are registered until 2013.

3. The site is built around the Joomla framework and uses Mosets tree directory and PaymentPlus automated subscription system to run the directory and subscription service. It has a very small database of members this early on, about 40. The site is still building traffic flow so averages around 20-40 uniques per day, certainly nothing outstanding - however the new owner with time will be able to increase that quickly.

4. For those who want to add an online shop you can easily do this with Virtuemart, or I can do it for you (extra cost).

5. The site has a working forum already installed (not switched on).

*Hosting Package. The current package is: 200MB web space, 2,000MB traffic per month,10 email addresses, 10 MYQL database, 10 sub domains, Server Side Spam Filtering, Server Side Virus Protection, Access to Plesk Panel, Application Vault, 24/7 Email Support, You are not obliged to renew your hosting - annual fee for this package is currently AUD$379

How Much Do I Want?
I haven't put a price on all this I leave it up to you to make an offer you think is fair. The highest or any offer will not necessarily be accepted. Like I said before the reality is I shall just use the money to fund my movie poster collecting habit anyway.

Email me a genuine offer or any questions to admin@thevintagemovieposternetwork.com

regards

David

I sincerely appreciate your well considered bid but I am not auctioning it here, just offering it for private sale.

The site looks very well presented, however:
- I guess a buyer might think hosting costs are rather steep... hosting in oz can be a lot more than if hosted in the us & depending on where your target market is, it is better to find a host in that area (eg for faster access)
- How easy is the site content for a novice to maintain? If the site is dead easy, ie not required to learn any joomla etc you might snag such a person, but someone a bit tech savvy I think would build their own site using their preferred tools. It is usually not fun taking over someones code/tools. Maybe someone with Joomla skills might be interested.
- Id say it is the content if you have copyright on it would be what is of value and maybe your site depending on what search terms your site ranks highly in google.

If the site is dead easy to maintain the content and add further functionality, or someone who loves joomla, whom can swallow the hosting costs and location, I think you might find a buyer with some $ maybe 100, otherwise I'd take Louie up on his offer.

All good thoughts - thanks.

Maintenance is as easy as logging on and typing, if you can do that you can pretty much run the site, Joomla is the engine that runs it and requires no expert knowledge to use it - the hard part was building a design around it and that bit is done.

Hosting is included until June next year after that one can shift to a cheaper host if that is the preference, migrating to other servers is not hard and in many cases hosts will help migrate sites for free to get your hosting business - so whether it's expensive or not probably doesn't matter too much. The difference in server speed is milliseconds between countries for speed of access, certainly not noticeable.

The content and design is copyrighted as it has been written/designed by me and/or my company or has been reproduced with permission (in which case the copyright remains with the original writer) - copyright is transferred to the new owner. Sure someone could build a site themselves, if they had the time or inclination. If one wanted to build a 'homer' (home-made site) and can produce one to the same level with the features that this site has then you would not be interested in this, of course. On the other hand if you wanted a professional designed site with a boat load of features far cheaper than what you would pay experts to do then this would be something one might consider.

It's not a $5 dollar website, nor is it a $100 website, on the other hand if I am not expecting to charge what we would normally charge for this site (one of my companies does design, domain names, hosting etc), this site was built because I enjoy my hobby of collecting movie posters but now my time is needed elsewhere at the moment.

Personally I think if someone was looking to sell posters this would be a great site to add a shop to because of the content you would have something 'else' for shoppers to look at (one could turn off the directory). It would also be a great place to showcase one's own collection and of course it is a good site as a resource too. There are plenty of poster collectors who have a great depth of knowledge who could easily add more interesting content to what already has been added and on a wider array of subject too.
