I always find great paper in the dealers room.  Sometimes even the price is right ;)!  Sean of Platinum Posters gets the opportunity to vacuum my wallet at least once during the weekend.  Plus it's a "family" reunion with a whole herd of my film/poster collecting pals from around the country.  Two live in the Columbus area and have really classy home theaters (read real theater experience).  One is a 16mm setup and the other is video projection with all the bells and whistles. And both have a wide gamut of genres to pick and choose from.

Based on last year, I would say bidding is pretty thin, but they protect their items with hefty (and often unrealistic) reserves, but do have things that "don't show up very often in any condition."

Thanks Peter... the hefty reserves I saw for the last 2009 auction were what prompted me to look for the final selling prices.  I thought things were priced pretty high, especially given that the economic downturn was in full effect by that point.

Does anyone have the PDF of the auction results?

I was looking at a friend's pics from Wizard World Chicago 09 on Facebook, and came across these two.  I wasn't collecting movie paper at the time, so I paid little attention to either of the booths.  Goes to show you that you never know what you'll find there.  I'll be sure to look them over this year  ;)

I believe that looks like Cory Glaberson's booths when he sets up

I think you are right...I used to visit him every time he did a booth at Gen Con in Indianapolis every year, although I don't think he has sold his wares there in a few years now.

Really nice guy.

What a great pair of pics. And it looks like Cory Glaberson had a feast for any kind of collector, be it posters, mags, stills etc, at his booth.

Love his OS for POTO ('43), And Curse of Frankenstein and Curse of the Werewolf.  thumbsup.gif

And that tall Frankenstein piece.. almost reminds me of what was offered thru "FM" and The Captain Company, back in the day. I always wanted one of those, as a kid. (Still do).

I look forward, Paul.

I always admired that image in the back of each magazine. I dont recall what they sold for back then. Do you? I will have to look thru a few of my issues to check. It was probably all of 2.95 USD (or less!!)

I think they started off at 99c, and went through $1.49, $1.99, and on...

Here's the one on the back of my door.

I have to talk myself down off the ledge every time I see one of those old Vampirella posters come up for sale.  We wants one so badly yet they're so totally out of our collecting realm...

Good to see the Frankie in use, where it belongs.

Great Warren posters, Paul!
I haven't seen that Frankie in color since I was a kid.
And the Manuel Sanjulian Vampi is exquisite.
