Deacidification sprays can cause some problems.
They can:
• darken newsprint and some other wood pulp papers
• change the colors of color media and supports, such as dyes, inks, and papers
• cause staining on some types of papers and leathers
• lead to a residue build-up on paper
• lead to cockling and buckling of some papers
• cause running of some media, such as inks, pigments, and watercolors
