  Should there not be a law against remakes within ten years of the original?  Kind of like the Crying Game, the shock factor made the movie.  Not sure why I would want to see the remake within a couple years of the original. That would be like seeing a remake of Silence of the Lambs.

I think the REC -> Quarantine remake was the worst. If you don't count the early showing of REC at the Venice Film Festival, it was less than 12 months between the release of the two movies!!!

Just say NO to remakes kids... quit being lazy and learn to read subtitles!

Seconded.

And to your point, and maybe even more egregious, is how directors think so little of their audience and dumb down the whole process by using English speaking characters with foreign accents...you know, to get across the idea that 'he-doesn't-really-speak-English-but-this-should-help-you-idiots-realize-he-is-Russian'.

Ex: anything directed by Marc Forster.

Well, giving one of them 4 Oscars (The Departed) did not really encourage the rest of the industry not to do it.
