Ok, I got this for $29 today off Ebay, a small fraction of what they go for on consignment.  Based solely on this small picture from the seller, who thinks it is original or fake and why?

From what I can make out, looks ok.
Compared to mine, all the bits and pieces line up...

Best bet is to consign it, for sure.

If it is as pictured and DS, then I think your good.  The red mouth does not fade out across the face and the hair is blonde.  From what I read and looked at, fakes often have a red mouth that fades out and a bluish tint to the hair.  And it looks like mine from a distance, so it must be legit.   Grin

The picture is too far away to see the wording on the bottom left building.  IIRC, there like three words on the original and cropped to two on the fakes.

Of course all of this is subject to the old IIRC (If I recall correctly),

As expected, this showed up and passed all the authentication tests on MPA, right size, no cropping of buildings, hand is prominent and easily visible, etc.

I thought it was original because (1) this is the same seller who sold me his PF Lucky Strikes and (2) as explained in the authentication, the blue line running down the Joker's right leg was very clear and prominent even from the small pic.

P.S. I have no interest in keeping this, just bought it out of curiosity. PM if you want to trade for it (check my wanted link below):

Why didn't you out it in the MID AUCTION thread so someone who really wants it could have got it for a steal?

Very good question Ves (assuming you meant "why didn't you").

Ves, I've said repeatedly that $1,000 is the proper threshold for discussing pending auctions on Ebay.

This one sold for $30.

You're just being silly and immature by making these kinds of posts.

Mel, again, that's YOUR arbitrary threshold.  And that's one of the issues.

There is nothing silly or immature - it's a legitimate topic for discussion that exposes the many holes in your position.

If the poster was such a "steal" why didn't you post it in the mid-auction thread for everyone to see?  But everyone already knows the answer...

My point was you said you didn't want, so why didn't you bring it to the attention of board members here in that thread so someone who really wants it can add it to their collection?
This poster is not going to reach your limit of 1000 in the near future, so it never gets discussed in that thread?

So what you are saying is that only once a poster reaches 1000 its ok to out?  rolleyes

It's hard to tell, there are just so many out there.  I probably have a dozen of them in a tube somewhere.  Bruce used to sell them for more than $200.  Nowadays, it sells for $120 or so.  Much less on Ebay, but that's probably because there are so many fakes out there.  I'd never buy this specific poster on Ebay.  It will go back up next year when The Dark Knight Rises open and the Batman frenzy is revived.

Sorry, just caught this thread.  I try to stay away from Spiderman, Matrix or Dark Knight threads Smiley

Ves, you are one mean girl.  I didn't know you had it in you and I like it.

Is is still for sale? I bought mine for $50 but there's a big ...dent in the middle of it. I'd love to get hold of a better one.

The dent:

The dent....Harvey Dent....hmm perhaps it's worth more now? hahah.

Did you try to return it?  I constantly return recent posters sold as new because of dents like this.  If not, I trash them.  New is new.
