Brian's Office Collection
« on: September 12, 2011, 09:41:20 PM »

My poster collection was inspired by Mel's Poster Nirvana and powered by All Poster Forum.  Back in June, while looking for decorating ideas for my new office, I found Mel's Poster Nirvana site and was like "WOW."  All those framed posters looked great. Then a little more web searching and I found the All Poster Forum.  I want to thank everybody for the kind welcome and camaraderie that has been extended to me.

I was going to wait until my office collection was done before posting pictures.  But then it dawned on me that my collection would forever be a work in progress.  I hope you guys enjoy the pictures as my collection progresses.  Today's pics are just to give you an idea of what I am working on.

Nice digs!  Is that a waiting room of some kind?  I kind of inferred you might be a lawyer?

Correcta mundo, it is my waiting area. I have plans for several walls within the office. And yes, I am an attorney and my specialty is residential real estate. A great career choice, huh.  Oh well, the great thing is that we are a gentler, kinder attorney, so I think that I will have great leeway in the decor.

Damn, Brian! You have 3 pinball machines in the waiting room? I wouldn`t mind waiting there forever...

Unfortunately, not much of wait anymore.  The idea behind the new waiting area is not so much for people waiting to close on their houses, but to help make us more memorable to their agents and lenders.  And, I want the office to be more of a hangout for agents and lenders since we are just down the street from County Board of Realtors office and the central banking area.  Of course, the 10 cent beer in the Coke machine is also starting to draw in some "regular" visitors.   ;D

Pretty darn cool Brian.
I've only got two posters hanging up at the work office (bunches in the office at the house), nice to see another attorney with posters instead of boring old blind justice prints or Atlanta maps or something.
(though I do have a BK specialist friend here whose office is all Star Trek and Woody Allen)

Yeah, but one of your two is a Phantom of the Opera insert, which is like "rock beats the hell out of scissors."   ;D  Thanks for the kind words.  Right now I am basically just holding frames with posters I like.  I am sure that upgrades will happen during my tenure in this hobby. At this point, the frame expense is no joke.......

It is funny that you mention that tube. I have yet to open yours, Mel's or Adam's posters.  For all I know, APF has royally screwed me.   :o
With your great auction giveaways, I currently have two PF's and one Dictionary. But would those be an upgrade over Daredevil and Buffy ( As I duck for cover.)

Have you been logging into my Heritage account or something?  I actually did get the Phantom insert in the last auction, but I hadn't even told anyone that (it's hard to resist early unfolded horror inserts), and it's not hanging at the office.
(One of the posters I have hanging up is a one-sheet for Out of Sight, so you're pretty far off)

Are you ordering your frames from Sue?  You should be able to get a good deal on a large order.
I'm glad lobbies are my favorite size to collect - makes framing much more affordable.

Love it! Particularly the posters, obviously, but also the old skool vending machine and the pinball machines. Wish I worked in an office like that! Although doubt I'd get much done...  :)

Cool office space, ATL.  Looks like you still have your work cut out for you, as I see a lot of empty wall space, another great thing about high ceilings.  ;D  A couple six sheets or some other large format would look awesome on the empty walls.  That is a helluva start, though, with a great assortment of one sheets, and pinball/coke machines.  I wouldn't mind picking up originals for Street Fighter and Street Fighter 2 someday, to re-live my reign of supremacy at the boarding school I went to back in the day.  ;D  You're probably the Pinball Wizard with all those machines, huh?

Are the posters bolted?  If I was a client of yours, I'd just grab a bunch and leave.  There are more lawyers than posters.

Very nice office Brian! Just a warning about the pinball machines, they become just another place to store posters way to easy!

I did spend the extra money to have my office windows and doors alarmed.    gun2
If I end up with a higher end collection someday, I might have to get separate insurance and stop posting pictures.  ;D

Great choice of posters with plenty of room for more.

I sure did.  Sue is the best.  I went with the non-glare archival frames.  A little bit of overkill, but the non-glare was important with all the fluorescent lights.  As a matter of fact, I have a shipment coming in this week.  Stay tuned, for my daybill gallery section........
