Would like the original Christmas Vacation poster, preferably double sided.

Don't know which ones to trust off ebay.

It's extremely unlikely there are any double-sides repros of this.  This one from movieposterzone should be fine, although you can find one cheaper if you monitor the auctions.

Lots of folded ones out there, that tend to go cheap.  I bought a folded one from Rich a few months ago for $7
http://www.movieposterbid.com/itemdetl.asp?id=76870

However, this poster has a dark background and the fold marks show pretty clearly.  I wouldn't pay much more than $10-15 for a folded one.  I am kind of strange as I prefer my posters to look authentic and battle scarred.

A rolled poster will go for $40-80, so Mel's pointer isn't totally out of line.

No, bradburied, tloceposters, and rokmodataol form the "axis of evil."

And by the way, double-sided repros are few and far between, probably because they are more expensive to produce and the targeted buyers - casual collectors - are satisfied with single-sided posters and don't know how to distinguish fakes. Here are three I know:

- Grindhouse: DS repro is 39"
- Spiderman: DS repro has mirror image on back, original is lighter/whiter on back
- Dark Knight: See this authentication

Thanks guys!
Okay, I was looking at some of their other auctions but it says for some of the pre 1990s posters there 27X40? not 27x41? Thats what got me a little worried. Should I be okay though?

I tend to trust Bruce, and he says 27x40 for this one.
Rich listed mine as 27x41, but that was a bulk description for the week.  I haven't measured mine, so I would believe the 27x40

You are correct. We make LOTS of mistakes. But what differentiates us from all the rest is we correct them whenever we are told of them, and we never stick our customers with our mistakes, as so many others do.
