What is known to be the 1st Japanese Release:

91 re-release of same image

Are we sure the Japanese is the first release?  Or just assumed it was?
First year of the Japanese Release was 1981?

Anyone know more about the timeline and art?

Yes, the art is by Struzan and was only used for the international campaign.  Then used in the US for the 10th Anniversary.

A few from my collection that use the Struzan art...  US, Italian, Thai, Japanese, French.

Bit of an amateur when posting about Raiders.  Great info T...  All from the 1981 releases?  The art just caught my eye and made me wonder.

Yes, all from 1981...  The Thai version might be from 1983, when the movie first came out over there.  Not sure, but first release.

If you want to collect them, they are all easy to find except for the French version, which is almost impossible to uncover.
