Superman Returns: Why do you hate it?

I know a little about you.......that you are asking for an authentication for an Avatar advance.  So, I would assume you are an Avatar fan?  So Nolan's films are not smart enough to entertain you, but Avatar is???  I guess there's nothing wrong with that.  To each his own, but it seems rather backwards to me.

Just watched the alternate opening..I couldn`t help feel that this seemed to be some kind of extended teaser/trailer/promo.Rather than a genuine possible opening..I would expect most modern audiences would be checking out their Mobile after 1:45s, or at least until someone spoke..,
The bit that has the Logo reveal..WTF?

Thank you guys, that makes me happy to hear. The heart of this hobby is to collect what you love, right? With the release of the Superman Anthology and the Return to Krypton scene online there's been a lot of revived discussion on this movie, most of which is rather negative. Even the press releases reporting the box set/scene take a swipe at it. I'm pretty sure even Bryan Singer has said in an interview that Superman Returns "didn't quite work".

But in spite of everything people say, I love this movie. It's the kind of movie that makes me want to write an analysis paper. To be passionate about a piece of art is a multidimensional exercise that requires not only introspection as to why you enjoy it but understanding its criticisms from those who don't. I'm very happy with the responses I've gotten in this thread.
