I'd rather: Expectations predetermine one's final perception.
Only for the unenlightened. I had generally low expectations for Apes and Fright, primarily due to piss-poor trailers, and they turned out to be good films. I also had low expectations for Change Up, Thor, Horrible Bosses and, heck, most of the rest of the summer releases and, with the exception of Colin Farrell's supporting role in HB, they weren't worth wasting my time.
I find it easier to maintain rather low expectations, rather than Geek out over the latest flavor of the month. True perspective comes with age for all of us.
I love Superman Returns. I'll defend any argument you make. But if you don't have one other than "Superman Returns sucked lolololololololol" then pipe down, pipsqueaks.
I also don't like Tron: Legacy even a little bit. But if you told me you loved it I'd ask you why rather than tell you you're wrong.
I was just trying to find some common ground...
Truthfully, I wouldn't waste my time trying to de-geek your inexplicable love affair. It's an exercise in futility, as the harder I push the more entrenched you'd become. It's far better to let you come around on your own...
