I'm a newb in movie poster although I have randomly bought some posters during the past year. Those posters are mostly animation and probably not worth much. But I guess those animations are really where my passion at. This forum provides me a lot of valuable information as well as many fancy posters that are way beyond my reach in the near future, I guess. I just want to express my appreciation.

Having side that, I had a question that is actually not even really regarding movie poster. I picked up a poster from ebay yesterday. It is a Empire strikes back NPR poster for the radio broadcasting.

I had no idea how much it worth and why I paid $61 for it at the moment (I actually placed a max bid of $100), since most of my posters were way cheaper than this. I just simply stunned by the art works of Yoda in the poster. Then I did some research about this poster. I guess there are two more in this series with the price tag that I cannot afford in the near future whatsoever.

Do you guys have any thoughts on these posters, especially the horizontal one. I didn't even find and additional information other than the one I post.

Thanks

Wormie, I believe you did very well.

Since Ebay quickly deletes past sales, always check the EmoviePoster Auction History and the Heritage Auction Archives. (You must register and log in to see the prices on Heritage).  I only found one past sale for $478:

Thanks for the information Mel. I'm overwhelmed by the price on heritage or the one on cinemasterpiece. But I think, like other posters, although the rarity really affects the price tag, it really worth the money only when you have passion and love for it. Otherwise, the price tag is just a number and means nothing but a piece of paper to the ones who don't appreciate.

I think I will find a nice frame and wrap it as a gift for my wife since she is even more into Yoda than I am.

 welcome to APF, Wormie.
Nice NPR poster you have there.  Artist Ralph McQuarrie is the same artist who designed the look of the STAR WARS universe, having been art director for the first two films before his death.
That horizontal Yoda poster is a new one to me. Never seen it before.
I'll bet your wife will love the gift!  thumbup

That poster was actually on my watch list, but I never ended up bidding.  Then again, I watch 100 posters for every 1 I actually bid on.  Nice score!

That's funny!  This evening I ran through several thousand posters for auction on Ebay and ended up with 10 on my watch list.  I then ruthlessly cut it down to four.  I only keep stuff on my watch list that I'm serious about.

I watch quite a few items... but only to keep up on current prices.  I probably have 30-60 posters in my watch list on any given day (which keep in mind covers about a 5-7 day window).  As mentioned though... for every 100 or so on my list, I'll bid on 1-2.

Welcome to APF Worm! Congrats on your steal of a deal! I want to recommend Hollywood Poster Frames for your vintage poster needs. Whatever you do, don't take it to your local frame shop. They will rip you off and won't even give you the type of frame you need. Also, if your interested in the Yoda/Hulk ILM poster, I know where you can get one. If you're interested send me a PM.
