My 2 cs. No need to be mean behind the screen.

I agree with what Neo said earlier. NEO= +10. Something got lost in translation here with Jeff's post.  And anyway, I don't understand these personal attacks. I will say this: I do not appreciate these personal attacks.

I do respect you all for sharing your knowledge. Everyone contributes. But no need to be mean. It is degrading. It degrades you, APF and this hobby.  I have nothing else to say.

My 2 cents.

Yeah but it wasn't really a refusal to show posters - it was more so gloating about having an amazing Bond collection and not backing it up with any evidence

But Adam is happy to SELL you images of his posters:

http://www.bondposters.com/Images.php

Of course, that's illegal under US law ($150,000 penalty per sale) - and almost certainly UK law as well - since those images are nothing but reproductions of intellectual property of United Artists and could never be "owned" by any collector.

Aside from that, of course, images of James Bond posters are as common as dirt.

Why would anyone linenback a perfectly fine rolled modern poster?  What's the freakin' point?

From Bruce's upcoming auctions.

I've wondered that too, ESPECIALLY if it is a rolled poster.

Maybe some want the extra protection (linen border) when framing it? Dunno, tho.

Seems overkill to me.

All that linen used on those above 12 one sheets could have been used to make a nice boat cover, instead. All it would have needed was a coat of water proofing applied, rather than wheat paste.

Understandable newbie mistakes were made...we've all done something whacky. But to be clear to all the newbies lurking..never a good idea to back a double sided poster. They were made to be displayed in light boxes,or at the very least simply framed.Lining backing is something you want to reserve for older posters, pre glossy paper era.

If only the linen could easily be recycled at home for worthy posters - would be a cheap alternative to sending off to a restorer

So agree with you on this, too Anthony. When one talks of potentially hurting a poster's value by doing something unnecessary, this, to me, is one of them. Backing is literally ruining (as well as covering) the reverse mirror image that was created this way for a very specific purpose.

Here's a question...  How can a linenbacked 1986 Cobra poster ONLY be in good condition?

Well if the seller is being honest the condition should be described as it was pre-backing.  Maybe this one had popcorn grease on it...
