Does anyone have one of these? How rare are they and what's the typical price tag? I'm trying to decide if it's affordable enough to stay on my wish list.

I have one.  I bought mine from Heritage years ago, the same time I bought my Aussie Blade Runner.  Depending on the condition, it'll set you back a few C-notes.  But, I love the poster more than most of the other star wars poters.

I think thats a re-release from a few years back when they made the "final cut" edition .. Also one tell-tale sign that its not an aussie/intl poster is the US ratings box on the bottom.

The first question I would ask when trying to answer your question is:

Where did you get that image?

I have an idea that it might be some rejected art for the Final Cut that never made its way onto a poster.

Wow .. good eye!!

I had to pull up a pic of the "final cut" poster and compare .. they are different ... but the same .. Wink So Id concur it is probably a rejected form of the "final cut" poster.

There is a story online somewhere about Struzan talking about his Blade Runner artwork and its evolution.  I am sure someone more resourceful than I can find it.  If I remember correctly, he did a piece before the original release of the film, but Alvin's art was chosen instead.  Over the years, he continued to refine his original until we got what we finally saw as the Final Cut one sheet.  This one might be one of the iterations of that art.

I have a vague recollection it was unused art as well.  Thought there was something about it on NS4 but can't find it.

That particular artwork was used on the UK paperback novelisation back in '82.

It's only use as a (unauthorised?) theatrical poster (about A3 size) was for a 20th anniversary screening attended by Rutger Hauer somewhere in the Netherlands. I remember several turning up on ebay at the time but have not seen it for some time.

Shouldn't this thread be titled "Empire Strikes Back Australian One Sheet"?

Also, this poster has been discussed at length in other threads...

From this website. It does appear to be a workprint.

If anyone is interested, I found this on Ebay.

I'm not interested because it's signed, but just in case...

I've sort of heard of this poster. It's pretty cool I guess. I don't know why anybody would want it. It's probably not rare and nobody should try to buy one.

Yeah, no problem, friend. Some people misunderstand exactly how lame his poster is and accidentally go looking for one. I highly advise everybody on this forum, especially those with expendable income, to steer as far clear of both the 1-Sheet and Daybill variations of this paper. I guarantee that anybody who is watching the market or considering making a purchase will be making a grave mistake. Why not spend your money on something else? Say, anything else?

Yeah. This poster is really stupid. Last I heard, Jeff bought one for $10. Just goes to show you how worthless and undesirable this paper is.
