Since we already have a "Sellers to Avoid" thread, I figured it was just to have a "Sellers to Praise" thread. Please list any movie poster dealer that you've had good experiences with overall on repeated occasions. I'll start with ones that I know are really great!

1) cinemacollectorsvegas
2) intergalactic
3) brude2000
4) cinemasterpieces

That really sux louie. I mean really REALLY sux cause as bad as it is to get a damaged piece, getting a damaged piece you have been hunting for is that much worse.

I have bought from that seller a handful of times without a problem. Never a lobby though as they were all posters.

I will also add that when I was even newer I bought from some "bad" sellers before I had read to stay away without a problem. On the flip side, I have also bought from "good" sellers and gotten less than desirable results.

Ebay has been a total crap shoot for me.

I have to say the seller post sale was pretty good, but still, if you have been in the business that long you should know how to pack a lobby card.  Bruce, Rich, and Heritage do a SUPER job.................................although Bruce should use a different tape on the inside, some of those packages are REALLY hard to open  Wink

If talking about sellers in general, away from eBay, here are my sellers to praise (in no particular order and based solely on my experiences as a buyer):

Bruce (eMoviePoster)
Rich (MoviePosterBid)
Dave (CineMasterpieces)
Mike (MEM)
Terry & Sue (Quadbod)

I would like to add Quadbod to the list of sellers who deserve praise . Terry & Sue are great people to deal with, and to know. Nothing is too much bother for them. I would place them as My personal number 1 seller, and it's not just because they sell mostly Quads. It's their customer relations, it's second to none.

Many thanks, Adz & Paul ... it's our pleasure ... and having good customers makes it altogether jollyfine ... in fact, totally spiffing!

Best wishes,

I don't buy much these days, but I'd certainly have to tip my hat to:

Dale (ddilts)
Graeme (Picture Trader/Poster Trader) at Ebay and Movieposterbid.com
abclebanon (Ebay)
kristell
semyns
cglaberson

 clap

...more to come...

Rich Halegua, individually: Best source for original Miramax posters (Pulp Fiction, etc.)

Mid-level dealers - if you can't find the poster at auction or don't want to wait for it and are willing to pay somewhat higher prices (but not rip-off prices):

filmartgallery.com (especially if want a LB poster)

majesticposters.com (best prices for a dealer)

fffmovieposters.com (has outstanding large pics of all posters, from the owner's personal collection, I check this site daily, they're adding 20 posters every day)

kinoart.net  (in Germany, but best general source for European posters, site available in English language)

It's evident much of the poster buying experience on Ebay is "luck-of-the-draw". Some people have repeated bad experiences with certain sellers while others have nothing but good experiences from those same sellers. However, it's a rare gem to find a dealer where nobody has had bad experiences with. Sigh...

I agree their packaging could be better. I put them on the list due to their disclosure practices. My biggest pet peeve is non-disclosure! Weak packaging is probably a close second though.

Yeah, the Halloween I bought from him belonged to a friend of his and he didn't know much about it, so I don't think he sells many posters.

I would throw John Reid (AUS) in here as a seller I have been impressed with.  Prompt shipment in a study tube as described.

Which Halloween poster did you snag?

I'm not picking on you, Mel, before you even say I am...
Majesticposters do have good prices, but not the best.

Best,

EDIT - Any chance a mod can pin this thread to go along with the "Sellers To Avoid" thread?

Has anyone ever figured out what pict_res means without being told?
