Hey guys, this is my first post on here and am basically just looking for some help authenticating what I believe to be a 1972 Reefer Madness review poster.  I was given this poster about 15 years ago by a friend as a birthday gift.  He told me it was an original poster, but had no documentation or provenance to prove it.  I have included links to a couple pictures of this poster (couldn't figure out the HTML to have them embedded, sorry....), it is 18"x11" and has the marking "MP1816" on the bottom right hand corner.  It is in excellent condition, the colors are very vibrant and has very little damage or wear.  Any help you guys can provide is appreciated, thanks!

Thanks again guys!

Bruce has one of these closing tomorrow here: http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=2227853

Yours seems to be consistent with that poster, although I have no way of knowing if it is original, or a reproduction of the contemporary poster.  Bruce's info seems to show that a lot of these were distributed at the time though.

Nice detective work, Jay.

Comparing Greggk's with Bruce's: Looks like Gregg's is a repro.  Notice the border.  Bruce's example is more consistent with off-size WC re-releases of that era. The hand-written MP1816 code in the bottom right also smacks of repro...Movie Poster 1816.  Still, it is a cool image.
Movieposterbid (Rich) or oldposterho (Peter) might be of assistance confirming it's origin.

As for embedding your pics, just hover over your photobucket image and copy the [img] code and paste to your post.

BTW,  welcome to APF, Greggk.

Yeah, welcome from me as well, Greg

I totally missed the size on Greg's posting.  Yeah, I would agree about repro.  Fifteen years ago would be around 1995 and I seem to recall a whole bunch of these sorts of repros being sold at places like MediaPlay at that time.
