Post your "tricked out" "official" movie posters here, not the commercial ones - ones that have actually been posted in movie theaters.

These posters have unique physical characteristics - the "wow" element - glow in the dark, lenticulars, optical illusions, etc.

These are not common, probably because they are expensive to produce.

I'll start off with a few.

Mel/kovacs what are the odds of coming up with all three of those Prestige character sheets? Zero to non?

Probably zero to none.  I have the Bale, but have never heard of anyone with that one or any others, nor have I seen any for sale (and I have been keeping watch for them).  I guess its possible, but for no further examples to surface in 4 years is very strange for a modern film.

Wouldn't those posters fit perfectly in the "Unicorn" thread, then?

That Sin City is awesome, Erich.  There's a number of Japanese posters that use the prismatic effect.  I also love the ones that use raised ink, sparkles, embossed printing, and other details. But, the one that takes the cake in this category is this B1 I have for Midnight Eagle.  The regular poster has images of bullet holes on it.  But this special copy, printed on heavy card stock, has actual holes in the poster for the bullet holes. Where you see black in the image, when in a lightbox, the light shines through the holes.  One day I need to take a pic in the lightbox.  It's the best of all tricked out posters, I think.

Best regards,

Holiday

You have it backwards.  The characters are visible from a distance, but not up close.  I dont think I can take a picture of the effect though because I can't get a tight enough angle with the camera.

Ah, just take a step or two back from your monitor to see the effect.

As promised, here's the "Tank Girl" poster under black light - really strange they actually produced this for movie theaters - I've never heard of another official black light movie poster:

Here's the Spiderman 3 poster - the gloss is streaked over the poster to produce a cool rain effect when backlit:

you know, I had seen and considered nabbing one of those tank girl posters.  I never knew it was a blacklight poster though.  That spidey 3 poster is great, but it is really too bad the movie was so terrible.  Personally, I have one of the "Venom on the left" versions.

I have the quad for Spidey 3 although Ive never had it up for display .. Id love to see what that looks like ! I got the version like the image above with the main image being of Spider man and the reflection being Venom .. To me that portrayed the struggle between the characters better.

Here's another for the collection...

I've also got a Spiderman 3 one sheet with just Venom and the gloss varnish rain, it's a really great effect... just can't photograph it!

Nice Mel, very nice.

Free your mind Stew and ye shall see ;D

Holiday loving that bullet ridden Midnight Eagle, great idea for a poster and would look great backlit with the light coming through the holes.

Yeah, I left the Killians out of that list on purpose, but they have a nice selection of mylars.

And Stew, I dont believe there is any effect there to be found, other than the prismatic holofoil effect which is immediately evident.

Night of the Living Dead mylar poster - picture taken in "candlelight" setting with lights off - cool and/or lame, can't decide:

Star Trek hologram poster (not for sale to public, sent directly to TV stations to promote Star Trek):

You need to get out more Mel.  Back in the 60s they made this really cool black light poster for Majin, and there is also one for Gamera vs. Barugon from the same studio.

Plus or minus a few years around 1970, NSS made a bunch of those long paper banners in fluorescent, black light friendly colors.  Many of the AIP titles were like that, and I think even mainstream studio films were as well.

Not a big release, but here's another, '60s era:
