Hi All, Bought a SS Unforgiven Adv about 7 years ago and it always look to perfect. I was recently going back through my collection and was looking at cinemasterpieces' listing and the colors are so different between mine and his. And then out of the blue I found a lot auction that had the advance with the same coloring; the seller said he thought it was a print simply because it was SS. The coloring to me was worth the risk. Plus it had a Multi signature Pulp Fiction poster with a screwy Tim Roth auto (who would repro that?)... Check them out and let me know what you think.... The one underneath is what I am thinking is the original the one on top is now what I am considering a fake. (so obvious now) Look at the edges and color. One on bottom has Warner Bros. Statement; no statement on fake. Suspected original has aging on back; fake is still minty white... Coloring again.. My fake is almost an inch shorter! What do you think about the suspected original? Any thoughts on it. My thought is the guy that listed it as a print just did so to CYA... Now on to the Pulp Fiction. There are a lot of info on the Lucky Strikes version but what about this Credits version. Are there any tell-tell signs of a fake? Little Man? No white specs? Good smoke definition... Signatures including the botched Tim Roth... Credits... Paper seems not too thin or not too thick..... Thanks so much for taking a look... Charlie

Hi, Charlie welcome to the forum! I think your conclusion is quite logical that your more recent purchase is an original. Just to be clear, the size of the original is a full 27x40? and the suspected fake is approx 27x39? I am sure that there was both SS and DS versions of this poster. I think Chad (supraman) has a DS one. Also, Mel is pretty much the resident Pulp Fiction expert and I am sure can weigh in on that one. great comparison shots by the way! Conor

You'll want somebody smarter and more informed on Pulp Fiction for a more solid answer, but I seem to recall Pulp Fiction being wider than most 1-sheets. 27.25 or something? Maybe try using this authentication: http://movieposterauthenticating.com/wordpress/?s=pulp+fiction

Even Dave Lieberman's site may have additional, definitive information about the Lucky Strike. There are collectors of this style that have been examining it for many years to extract and expose the various subtle (and not so subtle) differences between the real and bootleg versions. They, too, would be ideal sources, in this regard. Jeff Edit.. thanks, Zorba.. i was referring to the recalled style.. thanks for pointing that out.

The problem is that he is not asking about the recalled lucky strike but about the regular version. I have not seen an authentication on the Pulp Fiction regular one sheet. I assume there must be one somewhere as these are all over the web, single sided and very popular so I assume they have been bootlegged.

As for the Pulp Fiction:
1. The space between the credits and the bottom of the poster looks shorter in your pic than on my original, cutting off at least a 1/8 of an inch (probably a 1/4 or so). In the right hand corner of the pic, the white area just to the left of the fingers shows a loop of white that continues through the edge. On the known original, it stops short, leaving said 1/8 inch of black.
This is one of the first (and easiest) things to look for when comparing reprints vs originals. Reprinters would rather short the bottom area (less noticeable), than the top figuring, quite rightly, that most of their buyers only care about the image.
2. This may be just the photos, but the white spaces (cracking) on your copy look pearly white, while the original has a lot of 'greyness' to the edges of the white areas.
3. (I can't believe that I am the first to mention this) If it's cast signed, then not only are the signatures very, very likely to be fake, but also the poster is likely to be fake as well.

You seem to be the guy for the authenticting job. Do you remember the dimensions? BTW. That was cool how you helped out with the DK WSS authentication

Ok here is the one listed on Cinemasterpieces... Notice near the second man (to the right) on the top mine is cut off no spot between the arm and leg. The white does end near the bottom such as Archie suggests. Mine is obviously a fake.... Guess those are now two point to look for.. Thanks so much guys! -Charlie
