Oh yeah, I bought that.  Not a big fan of that Humphrey guy, but I felt I had to have it and it was there.  I know nothing about it though.

this time the Grateful Dead poster was sold for $50k

https://auctions.concertpostergallery.com/1966_FD_26_OP_1_Avalon_Ballroom_Grateful_Dead_Conc-LOT6687.aspx

Such an iconic and cool looking poster.

And with an iconic auction result, to boot!  cool1

so dig this folks..

2 weeks ago, Heritage sold a Casablanca 1949R international style

https://movieposters.ha.com/itm/academy-award-winner/casablanca-warner-brothers-r-1949-international-one-sheet-27-x-41-/a/7181-86042.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515

they got $12,000.00 for it.
I know exactly what this poster is, because I have had it. Heritage did indeed have this poster described correctly
When I first got the copy I had, I was a little confused because it's a poster that has had different descriptions.
HA actually sold it before as a military style, back in 2006, but I knew this had to be a mistake because the military did not get their posters printed by NSS - but it did have a clue - there was no NSS stamp on the back of the poster

to people who know their stuff, no NSS stamp on such a poster is in general a note that it is for international distribution.
So I did what any intelligent person would do - I went to ask someone who would know. Maybe the best expert I've ever known in movie posters - Dan Strebin and Dan immediately knew it was the international poster.

so now, last week, another copy was sold and I have absolutely no clue what-so-ever makes anyone come to the conclusion this poster is a commercial reprint and sells it for just $106.00

http://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=5149136

here is the Heritage copy

and here is a 1949R regular style

here is a comparison side by side of a 1949 & the copy sold for $106 that I have colorized to try to match it.
I have no idea how anyone can think the one on the right is a reproduction of the one on the left.
The tonal qualities of the 3 color poster cannot be matched, nor can parts of the image in general

What of the fold lines apparently being in the image itself?

And who are the nut cases that bid that poster up to $12k anyways 😵

what are you talking about?
The poster HA sold was folded
the linenbacked copy sold appears to have folds that have not been restored

Did you read Bruce's condition description?

"The poster was created by photographing a 1949 re-release one-sheet that had noticeable fold wear, so this poster does as well, but it is in the printing and not a defect. "

did you read my post & look at the comparative images: there is no way the one poster is a reproduction of the other poster.
moreover, my bet is that his mention about the foldeds reproduced is mistaken, just like that Funny Face 6 sheet he just sold that was mis-described in 2012 as not having a fake panel

there's nothing with making mistakes, because you can as a human, but there is a difference between a mistake and a blunder.
especially one that may have cost a consignor thousands of dollars

I read your post Rich but as far as we both know you have never examined in detail the exact copy Bruce sold.

Of course it could be misdescribed but unless you're comparing apples to apples it falls somewhat short

I have no doubt they just sold an original poster, described incorrectly.

With respect;

1. Unless you were in the presence of said articles, you cannot categorically state.
2. Blunders and mistakes are pretty much the same thing in my world.
3. Ref point 1, and bearing in mind emp's desire for correct, if not wordy, description, I would tend to just believe him.  It makes for a more stress-free day.

Bit mysterious, appears legit - sharp and little man - but unclear what it sold for. Wrote seller who just confirmed it had sold, nothing more.

......hmmmm......I didn't know there was that much money in 70mm Widescreen equipment.  :o  He or she certainly spread it around in that auction. Congrats to him / her.

70mmWidescreen and Noah27 are both tough competitors at auctions. I've won against both, but it takes bidding up to unbearable pain to do so.

I've never bid against either of them, but 70mm Widescreen made a decent haul. He seems to swoop in at the last minute and nab the nicest goodies. Noah27 did well, too. Price doesn't seem to matter, either. Kind of reminds me of "Raziz3009" who cleaned up on Bruce's big Bond auction in 2012. He nabbed just about all the major pieces to the tune of about $22,000 in just that auction alone!

This folded OS for JAWS sold this morning with a high, winning bid of $585.00 (along with 40 bids):

So again the relatively uncommon Ebay auction of an extremely rare MP, particularly where the seller has "messed up."

This quad never appears at auctions but the seller failed to list it on UK Ebay, where it would have done much better, even though damaged, only 9 watchers on US Ebay:

I came in 2nd  :P

This rolled, UK quad for NOES Part 2 recently sold for $159.00

Looks like someone got a pretty nice deal here?

Talk about some outstanding, Graham Humphreys art that is up close and personal.  thumbup

I have a copy of this poster, buying it around the time of he film's original release, but it's pretty beat up. I also got it signed by Robert Englund - back before I knew that in movie poster collector world that's a bit of a no-no.

I guess it could be helped through linen-backing, but I'm not sure what would happen to the Sharpie sig.

That gold Sharpie sig would be water resistant, so backing shouldnt be a problem for that kind of ink.

If you had it signed by Englund and you were there when he signed it, then it's yours to keep and enjoy and tell the story of how you got the signature.

I would not buy it because I don't trust signatures unless I am there in person to witness the moment.  But a lot of folks don't seem to care, and I'm guessing the Englund signature would add value to your poster should you decide to sell it.
