Does anyone know which style is the rarest (A, B, or C)? I personally like B with Anthony Hopkins face.

Style C - particularly if it is double-sided.

Mark

I didn't think C was printed double-sided.... Does anyone actually have one?

To my knowledge, it doesn't exist DS.  Never seen one.

Style C is the double-headed one isn't it? I thought that only came single-sided as well but I won Heritage's double-sided one in their April 24 auction - which they described as Style B. It seems they sold a couple of others in earlier months as well for much less than I paid.

I find it very odd that a poster for a 1991 movie suddenly resurfaces DS.

Just saying...

I have never seen a DS one either, but it would not surprise me as the Hopkins and Foster Advances are available DS as is the final.

Yes, but this was supposed to be the international style, meant to be distributed in foreign English speaking countries.  Now, in 1991, lightboxes were not available much around the US, and even less internationally, which is why it made sense this poster would only be SS.

As Dale says, all the other styles were available DS so whoever commissioned the printing of the posters may have made an error in ordering Style C DS as well.

Perhaps that's why it seems they didn't actually distribute it internationally and presumably a few were saved before the rest were destroyed? The fact that this previously unknown style of poster has just recently surfaced years after the release of the film does not bother me, particularly as it is a DS version of a known design. The saved posters could easily have been put in a cupboard and forgotten about. Heritage have sold three in the last few months but none in earlier years - maybe their consignor recently discovered his small stash?

That's my theory anyway.

I've just received this DS poster - it appears entirely legitimate. I hadn't realised there was a white border top and bottom so it does actually measure 27 x 41 - all three posters Heritage have sold have the same margins.

Sure enough... just checked the archives and they sold 3 'Cleveland' style DS style Cs.  Wild.  I wonder if these were test printings or something.  Was there any 27x41 printing still going on back in 1991?  Clearly the plates were 27x40.
