I apologize, by legit I didn't mean fake I meant an actual theater release poster and not a Star Wars Fan club mail away poster or something of that nature.

Was it a suspiria poster?

Nope. Those Italians are near impossible to date. It also seems like they re-released most movies over and over.

I ask because researching the suspiria 2f yesterday as I have one and a customer wanted it, I saw the ones you auctioned were different to the one I know (ballerina style) and LAMP lists yours as a reissue.

I actually thought the art of yours was from a double fotobusta, but I could and probably am wrong.

also LAMP might be incorrect. Be interested to know.

Understandable, and I don't think anyone would have taken offense to your comment.

Fortunately, my earlier comment still stands. Both are listed as official theatrical posters. So if it turned out one was not 100% authentic and accurately reflected the description, you could still return it. While EMP does sell commercial and fan-club posters, as there is a genuine market for those as well (especially SW posters), they will always be marked as such in the description.

I will get researching on it. If you can send an image of yours to "phillip at emovieposter dot com" that will help, especially a close-up of the bottom.

We have caught LAMP in errors on Italian printers. Their info on every other country is first rate, but wherever their Italian info came from is flawed.

THIS is often how we find those super-old errors. I see a poster that is different from what we once sold and then we figure out if we were wrong or if the current seller is, and if it proves that we were, we e-mail the buyer from long ago and offer a full refund.

Just had a long conversation with Steve Pearson, movie poster dealer since the 1970s and owner of DejaVuGallery.com. He used to own stores in the LA area.

He told me back in 1977 Lucasfilm directly sent him 300 rolled/folded Star Wars one sheets, as well as 10 Star Wars insert posters for promotional purposes.  He has sold or given away all but a handful of the one sheets but still has seven of the inserts.

Anyway, the inserts he received have "LucasFilm 1977" on them, like this:

These "Lucasfilm" inserts generally have been considered video one sheets (or bootlegs) but it appears at least some are original Lucasfilm promotional inserts.

So to the best of my information, there are two legit versions, original 20th Century Fox (left), original LucasFilm (middle), and bootleg (right):

Oh I see, the bootleg looks a lot brighter.

I would really recommend measuring yours to be safe before buying the frame.  Sometimes posters of the same title were not cut to exactly the same measurement...

That's why I just trim my posters to the size I want them to be.

Some 40x60s vary over or under about 1/16 of an inch.

Thanks a lot. I measured it myself and it was almost exact 40x60 with a tiny fraction of 1/16. It's time to go ahead and order the frame ;D

Good job; and it will look smashing in its new frame, too!

No problem.  Most framers know to make the frame a little larger than the piece to be framed, but I always tell my framer the size of the piece, and then they confirm the measurements they will make the frame - about 1/8" larger.  They look perfect, and the paper can expand and contract with humidity.

It's a classic.  I'm sure it will look great framed.
