Not-so-great early concept poster for Star Wars:

The original trailer used the same theme as that concept poster: "It may all be happening right now" (later changed to "A long long time ago..."):

Following up on the earlier post, some more early concepts shown in "The Star Wars Vault" book.  The book notes that Fox had no idea how to market the movie and basically gave up after the first trailer come out.  It did very little marketing in the months prior to May 1977.

This is a contemporaneous news article from January 1983 concerning the "Revenge" posters:

Interesting article, Mel.  I actually got the rest of Eric Caidin's Jedi posters back in 2003.  5 of them, mint, rolled, and free.  I like free.  Traded a few rolls of 25 modern posters.  He had them in the back since 1983.

There are so many of them out there, Randy.  I'm keeping mine for eventual trades.  One day, I'll make a list of all the extra posters I have for trades.  It makes no sense keeping them for trades if nobody knows about them.  There are a lot of good ones.

My "theory" is that "Thierry's" collection is an impending supernova.  Soon it will become so dense and supermassive that its core will undergo gravitational collapse and the collection will explode into the ether and eventually reach the rest of us  8)

Looks like Anthony Daniels wasnt invited to the shin-dig? (or he doesn't like having his picture taken).  ;D

It's well known Daniels and Kenny Baker hate each other, and Kenny is in the picture...

Thinking about it....

That's a bit unfair to Kenny as he's a first rate fellow. I've spoken to him several times, the problems are mostly from Daniels, who flat refuses to be anywhere Kenny is, unless they are filming, and he's very professional....

It's unfortunate when this kind of thing happens with actors, especially when doing the same film(s). We are only talking about posing for a photo, here. I mean, place them on opposite sides of the posed group or something.

It isn't as though Daniels was asked to dance with or even talk to Kenny.   ;)

It really is that bad Jeff, he will do what he's contractually obligated to do, but after that... It makes Adam and Mel look the best of mates... :o

Paul.. was it just a simple clash of personalities/bad chemistry?

Or did something happen between the 2 of them that you are aware of?  :-\

I was working at a starwars convention a few years ago and went back stage to eat my packed lunch..Mr baker and his wife asked if I minded if they
Joined me...and they got their packed sandwiches out and sat beside me...so I had lunch with the Bakers  ;D

Here's a pic i took later that day backstage....

Most of the cast members that were there were really nice guys...except for Ken Cokely  :-\

Kenny said Daniels just didn't like him, and wanted nothing to do with him. I didn't like to push it any further, but Kenny seemed fine about it saying if he wants to be like that let him get on with it.  Reading between the lines Daniels is a bit of a "Lovey", and Kenny is very down to earth.... no pun intended...  I'm guessing Daniels thinks Kenny is a bit uncouth, and only gets parts because of his Size....

The problem reared it's head again a few years back, when someone tried to get them to appear on a "where are they now" kind of show. Kenny turned up, when Daniels asked if Kenny was there, and found out he was, he refused to appear.   So unfortunate, but such is life.

Apparently, that was the U.K. depositary for used British posters. Hence there's a few Irish chaps with some
Very scarce British Quad posters.... Lucky sods..
