I always liked the birthday one sheet as the dorky figures reminds me of my brother and I playing with them when we were kids. Taps nicely into that nostalgia vein for me.

It's also a reminder of how much money we could make if we had kept those toys.

Well, that is understandable -- the nostalgia factor for the toys.
If I was a few years younger, I'd probably feel the same.

I wonder how much the figures are worth I picked up from Disney land in Paris, when it was still called Euro-Disney....

While I agree that this poster lacks some aesthetic appeal, I think that another key reason for it's high value (outside of Star Wars in general and rarity) is that it has the first set of figures (sans jawa) on it. It therefore can appeal to a wider audience, including people who pay big bucks for the old Kenner toys.

Lieutenant Dan sold this "test proof" 28x41 ROTJ with white lettering and Hercules on the back....

I don't know which is worse.

The fact that they are selling such an easily identifiable and well known bootleg as an original...

Or the fact that they feel that a poster with "light edge wear, edge tears, surface creases, very minor paper loss, pinholes, or unobtrusive stains. Tape on verso." is considered "Fine/Very Fine.".

I was kind of wondering the same thing when I read the description and saw what it was. I have contacted them about posters like this before and they were always quick to remedy it but did not see it before today this time.

Maybe the missing GAU logo is the "very minor paper loss" they were referring to in the description?

Well in HA's defence - it does say "May include".  Like I've said before their condition descriptions are catchalls unless you are buring from one of their Major auctions

Of course that doesn't excuse selling a bootleg as an original ;)

They got back to me and are going to notify the consignor and buyer about this issue.

Why should it take your time and effort Mel to point out these kind of mistakes?

Well, I'd say that Heritage usually gets it right and this "miss" was unintentional and aberrational.

By contrast, Ebay lets scumbags like Locust sell hundreds of bootlegs and reprints every year.  When I tried to warn his buyers, Ebay threatened to kick me off Ebay for "warning off" the buyers.

So it's all relative, I suppose.....

On the bright side, maybe when the highly skilled Heritage packaging people prepare the shipment, they will accidentally rip off the bottom inch of the poster, making it indistinguishable from an original. Win-Win, right?

Let's hope this is one of many decisions that Disney get right concerning the new Star Wars saga;

Exactly. Who cares about the poster, I want a good SW film.

Lieutenant Dan sold me his rolled SW Birthday poster (with diagonal crease) for a reasonable price.

Pretty sure that makes me the Crown Prince Poster Nerd!

I was wondering what happened to that poster. Saw it posted last night, but gone this morning, replaced by his Jaws 2 teaser.
Congrats!
