Welcome, Shockwave. I too am sorry to hear about your loss. Maybe though your new collection will bring you some new friends.

I think you'll find that everybody here is looking for something. In fact, you'll find that everybody here is looking for many things. Putting together a list would be a good way for people to see what you have, as long as you are willing to deal with the potential mad-dash as we all attack like piranhas. Another way is, if we know the exact time period your posters are from and what kind of movies hit the drive-in, we can inquire for something specific.

Take a look around, get settled, learn some names and have fun!

Welcome Shockwave, I think you are about to be inundated with PM's.... including myself. I will say, if you want the best prices for your posters, don't do deals on a one to one. Let everyone know what you have, and they can fight it out. So take your time, and post a list. it's the only way to get a good deal.

All posters are worthless, you should sell them all in one big lot to me Wink

Where is the drive in, got any pics and what era did she have it? I love pictures of old theaters and the drive-ins were really something special. Seems they were trying to make a come back, but that short spurt has sputtered a bit.

Might want to check out this other recent thread about a similar situation...

http://www.allposterforum.com/index.php/topic,2133.msg31212.html

Bottom line, I'm sure you have a few gems in there that are worth big bucks (>$200).  However, you probably also have a giant pile of worthless paper along with it.  Either you can dive into the hobby, cataloging everything, learning about values, selling one-off here and on eBay, etc... or you can just drive it all in a truck to someone like Rich or Bruce who will sell it all for you and charge you a commission.  I'm sure most of the wackos people here would dive in... myself included.  However, normal people might not want to (or should) go through the trouble after weighing the potential reward against the time and effort it will take...

Welcome to the forum, but I'm sorry you found us given the circumstances.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  Shocked
Never mount a poster.  Frame it, but do not dry mount or attach to anything.  Linenbacking possible exception, but read through the giant wars here first.
