A warm welcome to new members
« on: April 15, 2011, 04:45:53 PM »
I've let in quite a few new members lately, more so than usual.  I've also denied entry to a lot.  Hopefully, the ones I let in are legit.

So welcome to:

3sheet2thewind
anupa
arbetsskor
bathephisherman
Blaze
BloodyMurray
ChrisS
GuinealPigg
Harry Angel
hofnerrz
JMPC
landinthai
mariedsuza
Vintage Original Posters

I'm going to do this periodically to 1) give a chance to new people to introduce themselves and 2) see who's legit and who's not.

Hello new members who managed to avoid the psychological turmoil of being repeatedly rejected. We will have nothing in common because I am still emotionally devastated.

So I say we all pick a stud and a dud from this list...who will be a legit member and who will not.

I got dibs on 3sheet2thewind on being the real deal, and I say the one to be amongst the first axed will be arbetsskor.

What about you guys? Who's your horse(s)?

I don't know... 3sheet2thewind was let in yesterday and has yet to show up.  Some people have showed up but not posted.

Don't be shy.  There are a few jerks on this forum, but they're mainly harmless loudmouths.

Someone on another (now quiet) poster forum had the username '3sheet2thewind' ... so I wonder if it is the same person!?
Best wishes,
Adam

I vote for BloodyMurray.

I see his name at the bottom of the forum.

Thierry, the websites give away the obvious spamsters (cutting the www to prevent automatic linking):

GuinealPigg, ww.gnethosting.net  (domain registration site)

Stomper, ww.stompernet.com  (search engine)

Killa55, ww.toasterovenreview.org

tstacynicholsoni, ww.sexogratis.com.mx   (porn site, obviously)

Zap 'em.  gun2

Will do.

See what I have to deal with?  And those chosen few are about 10% of the total.

If only there was some way to have applicants prove they're human. Some sort of message box where they have to introduce themselves.

MPF have a system in place where applying members MUST post before being able to post anywhere else on the forum.
I am sure it is the 'Forum Introduction' section.

Can you put that system in place here, T?
It would sure as hell take a lot of the bother away from you, making your life easier!
Best wishes,
Adam

T,

a couple others that smell of  spam, based on their website links are

1. stomper (stompernet.com-- "stomp the net" search engine membership)

2. killa55 (toasterovenreview.org- best toaster ovens on the market)
