a serbian film
« on: February 11, 2012, 05:50:56 PM »
i have been scanning ebay for quite some time trying to find a poster for a serbian film, from any country?
so far i have been unsuccessful :(
i was curious to know if anyone has seen a UK quad for this ever? or like i say anything really?

another title i have been curious about is the spanish movie  kidnapped.
i also never saw anything for this either? it looks a bit like this

and i cant find that poster on ebay. been looking for over a year???

if anyone has seen it i would be curious to know where to get them from?
i did mail the uk distributor of the movie, but naturally i didn't receive a reply
TIA
I don't know much, but i do know what my eyes are telling me!

hey erik
thanks for the response, yeah i like that silent night poster too!
not so keen on that kidnapped design though. its a great movie if you get to see it.
and the serbian film in particular i was looking for was this

not necessarily that design but i haven't seen any for sale anywhere of any design?
well only stupid reprints of which im not interested. odd that it was so controversial and yet nothing has turned up?

It just seems too recent to not be available somewhere.
Have you tried contacting the producers?

yeah thats kind of what i thought? that a poster of some description would be available? but not a single original has surfaced for 12 months on ebay, emovies, heritage, or anywhere else i can find.
i did contact the UK distributor for serbian but  i got no reply?
i think i contacted the website for kidnapped? but im not 100% sure, i have a terrible memory, haha. if i did i also received no reply :(
i have been quite thorough in my search which is why im starting to think that no posters were actually printed?

According to the imdb, A SERBIAN FILM saw film festival screenings and limited release (in the USA and UK) only, before going to to DVD.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1273235/releaseinfo
That would explain the lack of paper.
But, as you can see, it was released theatrically in Japan just a few weeks ago.
I'm guessing because of the lack of poster paper and the extreme nature of this film, if you find anything it will be costly.
If I were you, I'd hone in one of the few Japanese poster dealers to put out a search before the few produced over there disappear off the market.

WICKED idea! i dont know any japanese dealers, but i do have a mate who kind of (?) knows his stuff. im going to try him right now as i think he should just be getting out of bed?
i thought serbian got got some kind of theatrical release, but was curious how i just couldnt find anything at all?
to be honest though if the poster did turn up and it was mega bucks im fairly sure i wouldnt buy it anyway? i am now imagining the asking price from a dealer would be in the £100 department and i dont want one THAT much! i could get some SWEET 70s posters for that price!
but ill continue the search anyway.

as for kidnapped. i kind of think the plastic bag image was dropped and replaced with the screaming woman image as it is a LOT less graphic. but i have yet to find any paper for that movie either?

I consider myself a horror geek but movies like A Serbian Film have absolutely no appeal to me.  I guess I am a bigger sci-fi/monster fan.  Anyhow, welcome to the forum!

certainly no theatrical release in Oz, far as i know all releases are cut also (the DVDs) I have read about the film, I don't know yet, some artgue there is a point to it all. One day I'll see it. But as with all things I am in no rush.

i would say its an interesting movie more than anything else?
i didnt find it offensive at all, in fact i think its quite funny.
because it tries too hard to push all the "offensive" buttons it can find.
in that respect it reminds me a lot of funny games. the major difference between serbian and most other exploitation movies of this ilk, is the production values.
it does look really slick and the cinematography is EXCELLENT. im fairly sure this movie will not hold up to the test of time, as most cutting edge movies dont. but the story core is quite poignant .

im fairly certain i do have an uncut version of serbian floating around some where? although the cuts are minor from what i remember and trims more than scenes missing?
which kind of reminds me of human centipede 2 as that had much talk about missing scenes. not got round to watching the uncut one of that but that is a REALLY funny movie.

i used to be heavily into horror years ago but these days i dont watch much of it all. the only reason im bringing these up is that i cant find posters for them! i do not watch tv at all and only movies have done for many years, which is why i have so much rubbish on disc haha.

to be honest kidnapped is a much better movie, but i wouldnt class it as a horror. the theme is home invasion but its a violent thriller.

thanks conor for the greeting

agreed! its a great movie. i think what makes it quite unusual is it spends almost the whole movie in a car.
and if anyone has a poster for that movie they would like to donate to a good home, im more than willing ti supply the loving care :)

likewise, that was never released, well had a small run some time in the 2000's I think. But was never finished in Mario's time. So you want the hard ones fella ;)
