Getting back to what T said about the 80s being red hot.  I assume that implies there are quite a few 80s posters that go consistently for $100+.  So I thought I would list all the posters I can think of that average $100+ based on Bruce's sales results over the last 2 years.  I'm only using US or Intl versions.  I'm sure there are more but here's what I initially came up with.

Blood Simple - original version
Blade Runner
Empire Strikes Back (gwtw)
E.T. (bicycle)
Revenge of the Jedi
Evil Dead
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Re-animator (art style)
View to a Kill (intl)
Back to the Future
Goonies

Danny, at first glance, I would throw in the infamous Ferris Bueller Intl one sheet. Rich sold it for over a grand recently.

Blues Brothers
Caddyshack
Escape from New York (reg & adv)
ET (lights in clouds)
Withnail & I
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Clan of the Cave Bear (adv)

And I would remove the following from your list as they can be had less than $100 with patience on eBay:
Back to the Future
Evil Dead
Goonies

Granted it was a great deal, but I only paid $43 for my Back to the Future poster.

Anthony, it was folded then, wasn't it?

I think we are getting into extremely grey areas now...value vs. 80s vs. 90s vs. value vs. ebay vs. Alien vs. Predator vs. BIN vs. Tyson vs. I'm not making much sense...back to the grill and my beer.

I agree it gets fuzzy when you factor in ebay.  I was only using numbers from Bruce's sales.  However, regarding the ones you would add,  I would then remove both Blues Brothers and Caddyshack since I got both of those on ebay for way under $100.

This is why this current assessment is essentially impossible.  Some people will pay less, get a deal, be patient, pay retail out of impatience, etc...

What some folks pay for something on ebay (past, recently, future) is never the same...its all so up and down that our efforts to gain any sort of clarity on said topic, to be extremely futile.

I seem to recall something like this about ten years ago.  Somebody found a suitcase with a half dozen previously unknown posters.  I think it was a universal horror 6 sheet.  He auctioned one and destroyed the other 5.

Anybody remember the details?

jay, I thought of another (seeing as this thread has been revisited)

someone found some Outlaw 6 sheets and sent one to Christies and said he destroyed the remaining one or two copies. Then of course, Christies had another listed, and everyone knew the guy was full of horse pucky
