Gertie is one terrific poster.  I believe Gertie also gets credit for being the first animated film.

Gertie is the "first cartoon to feature a character with an appealing personality" according to Wikipedia.
The first full-length animated film was made down here in Argentina in 1917, directed by the same guy that drew this poster:

Matias,

This is awesome. What a great poster.

The allure and mystery surrounding absinthe, is fascinating to me; (the green fairy, being made with wormwood, its being banned in the US for so long).
Even the ritual of preparing a glass for consumption, with the pouring of water over the ice, thru the strainer, making the absinthe turn cloudy, in the process.  cheers

haha no when I was drinking I didnt care about what was in it (or didnt go out of my way to find out/be sure). I knew local beers and wines that didnt use animal ingredients and spirits but didnt think about it too much, I dont drink alcohol any more.

re Stone Lithos, do people get pissed at sellers on ebay who list just about any daybil (or whatever)l as stone litho? or do you click the link just to see?

Some sellers have been repeatedly emailed about this, and year after year still the same.

I was debating where to throw her, Charlie. I wasnt sure if posting it in multiple threads was the way to go or not. But i think it is amazing, too.

She is fantastical. This poster was also a pre-code poster and would never have passed the censors one year later, in 1934.  ;)
