Not sure if anything like tht has been posted before but I enjoy understanding the lithography process and thought some of this stuff was pretty cool to watch and read.  Keep in mind, these only apply to fine art prints and stone lithography and NOT mass produced film posters from the last fifty to sixty years.  Enjoy!

Good articles!

The jack gallery articles are pertinent, too, because this was the company that produced all of the S2 litho movie poster reproductions, many of which have been highlighted here on the board.

From the jackgallery about product link:

S2's fine art lithographs are crafted on the same flatbed presses used in the legendary ateliers of Paris. To our knowledge, only seven of these presses remain in the world. We are the proud owners of five of them. Unlike contemporary computer-generated reproductions, lithographs crafted on these presses contain pure color and subtle variations in texture that rival the nuances of painting.

She thinks Valentino Son of the Sheik is great.

Tried to make a imo of this pic but failed. Oh well. Great WC. Still like the FR better, but that's just me.

It reminds me those medieval wood paintings, with Virgin Mary and all surrounded by angels, etc There were also some Flemish paintings of that style.

It is actually nice. I like it. It looks ... different. Please don't tell us this is a Benito..

I prefer Valentino ;)
