Very nice Matt!  I've really think the pre-war Belgians are some of the best film posters around.

Agreed!  :D

Benito has one of these Italians for sale.  Pretty cool design, too...

I love that Italian!

Chris, I bought my Belgian back in 2011 off of eBay.co.uk... are we talking about the same poster?

I do believe so - I can't remember exactly - but the one I was bidding on looked VERY similar

What's the policy on posting in-progress auctions? Came across one of these Stone Lithos, know nothing about them, but was going to post in case someone was interested. Are people only interested in some of them?

Oh boy, can of worms, depends who you ask.
There's a thread for it, MID AUCTION WTF or something, but be warned if someone was watching it you'll get the wrath of poster satan poured over your innocent soul.
Personally I don't have a problem but I think I'm in the minority here.

Yeah, that's why I asked. Still has 3 days and no bidders yet. I asked here since it was a Stone Litho, but the thread you mentioned is probably the right place for it, if at all. Thanks.

Just please keep in mind that some members here may have already found the item too and by posting it publicly you could create unnecessary competition.  There is no rule against posting in-progress auctions (mid-auctions thread). However, as a general rule of thumb I don't do it and prefer to send PMs. Its a small enough community here that I nearly always find a taker after 2-3 messages tops. If you take the PM route then there is really no difference waiting a few days to post the result in the 'post' auction thread.

If you check the stats on the first page there are currently 5 times as many anonymous guests online as there are members. There is probably a good chance then if you post it publicly one of the members here will *not* end up with it...

Food for thought.

I was in Newtown last night, started to drive off and a cockroach walked across the inside of my windscreen. It's a tidy car, the blighter must have gone in as I opened the door! Never had one in there before, eww

Thanks, Harry. All very good points. Your statement, along with a little 'how would I feel if it happened to me', and of course Brude's +1, made me see the light. So without further ado, here is the post:

Hah, just kidding. ;)
I will refrain from posting the auction, but if anyone is interested, PM is your friend. Again, I know nothing about these Stone Lithos, so it could be an undesirable (is there such a thing? ;) ).

Dont forget, too, that many of the exquisite, vintage stone lithos shown in this thread, if for sale (BIN) or up for auction, can be listed for thousands of dollars each.

One seller, benito, who we all have commented on and complimented in the same breath, seemingly has an endless treasure trove of such posters. Yet his prices are in the stratosphere.  ;)

Well according to BBC NEWS, Benito's stratospheric prices are falling down (in Russia). Sorry, bad joke. This girl can't help it. ;)
