My Daughters poster collection
« on: March 18, 2011, 10:00:50 PM »
When she was little I started saving posters that she liked. She got bored f them by the time she was a teenager. But ahh well. I still have them sitting here.

What a great Dad.
She might've gotten bored with them recently (being a teen and all), but years from now she'll rediscover all of those memories all over again. Then they will be priceless to her.
Outstanding, Ari!

Kind on/off topic. I really hope the Disney classics make a come back some day. The constant re-releases renewed interest in each generaton and with the boom in home theater, it really now falls on to the parents of each generation if the films continue to endure. Granted, some hold up better than others, but up to the 90's Disney still was producing classic animation. Pixar just grabbed hold of the reigns and never looked back.

Awesome,

My daughter at three asked me to flatten her Tinkerbell poster she got in her DVD a few days back and it had to go on daddy's poster table.  Just this afternoon she made me put it in a sleeve and put it in the storage unit.  I've bought her several posters, but interestingly she wants to keep them stored instead of hanging them up.  Either I am in trouble (in terms of buying posters) or it could be a great way to convince momma that poster collecting is ok...

It doesn't end.  I just bought my oldest daughter a 1 sheet of Winnie the Pooh & Tigger too, and last month a care Bears Movie.  Those were ones she wore out on laserdisc and I already know she will hang them when I give them to her.  BTW, she is 29.

Boy, doesn't that make your heart hurt, Ari!  I have two teenagers that are moving on to other things as well, leaving me with memories and understanding of why my dad used to pester me so much for a few minutes of my time.
Best regards,

Holiday

Great collection and selection you kept gathered for your daughter, Ari. Are you still holding on to them, or did her interest renew? Does she now have them?

And what year is the Wiz of OZ daybill from.

I like that one a lot.    happy1

Nice Ari.

I have been collecting animation posters for the purpose of showing the movies to the kids and displaying the poster from the movie in their bedroom after they watch it.  They're a little young, but I can't wait to do it.

good on you, the sad part is when they become teenagers and completely change their taste, haha.
My daughter in her teens hated movies, ONLY like TV shows (Japanese animation and American comedies).
BUT.... just last year she told me...

SHE NOW LIKES HORROR FILMS, phew.......

I may have enough posters to cover that.

And I can't imagine them hating movies.  Geographically, it's a non starter.

I had to look up what a rusty slipper is. Apparently it is when a dog or human does a sh!t is your slipper. Your Bogie thoughts have certainly changed since then.
