http://shop.vendio.com/comicod/I've been using this site for quite some time and is one of my favorite to visit. His collection is very large, and he's very professional and personable. Everything I've received has been in superb condition and have checked out as authentic. The website is set as sort of a queued eBay account that will periodically list the items on eBay with the starting prices you find on his website. He seems to know quite a bit about posters as well, in some cases almost comically. Citing his Titanic listing as an example: http://shop.vendio.com/comicod/item/757927382/index.html I BOUGHT 10,000 TITANIC DIRECT FROM THE STUDIO AT THE TIME OF RELEASE IN THE LARGEST NEW TITLE POSTER PURCHASE IN HISTORY, SO ABSOLUTELY THESE ARE ORIGINALS. UNFORTUNATELY THE JERK FRANCIS IN ENGLAND WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR FAKING THIS EXPENSIVELY PRINTED POSTER WITH HIS CHEAP CRAP WHICH AMONG MANY FAULTS INCLUDED BLUE CREDITS INSTEAD OF THE GOLD INK THE ORIGINALS CREDITS HAVE . THIS POSTER HAS NO TAPE ON IT OR PINHOLES AND IS UNUSED AND HAS ONLY THE SMALL DINGS AND DEFECTS THAT MIGHT OCCUR WHILE PACKAGING IT . Whether or not he knows "Francis" personally seems like it'd be an interesting anecdote. Anyway, I haven't seen any talk about this retailer but the prices are great (for what I've purchased, anyhow). In the two occasions something has gone wrong, he was immediately contactable and made great effort to satisfy me as a customer by offering me another poster within a reasonable price range. A colleague of mine got a Videodrome heavily discounted just because of a very small corner tear. I'd recommend him without reservation. Quick Note: His search function is pretty wonky and maybe 40% of the time it will simply turn up results seemingly unrelated to your search. In this case, simply re-running the search remedies the situation. Edit: Title change to reflect recent revelations.

Yeah, do a search, but whilst he has made mistakes in the past, and he may still make them today (I'm not taking away from his bad attitude towards many people in the past & his selling restrikes as originals etc), Greg does have original gear. And if he is treating customers the way described above then he has changed for the better, right?
Has anyone here actually met him though?
Best, Adam

I shall run such a search. I don't know anybody by name (except for the unavoidably learned "Bruce" from eMovie) and am hardly a connoisseur, but I've only had excellent experiences with him. I've done business with him several times, as has my colleague, and we've always been pleased.
If it has a history that states otherwise I'm quite curious and intrigued.

HA!!! It's been a while. Egbert is back. Dude, I guarantee you that some of the posters you bought are reprints and you don't know it. Egbert, and his 20 different aliases on Ebay, as screwed many, many people in the past. Yours truly included. He would have so many negative feedbacks on Ebay that he would have to switch accounts and start fresh somewhere else, again to get dozens of negs within a few months. Sure, some of his gear is authentic, but some of it is fake and he passes it for original. The most famous example is his rolled Friday the 13th.
BUYER BEWARE...

How incredibly interesting. I've been reading some fairly lengthy threads about this guy and while I'm not too sure if I've been taken yet I'm definitely more skeptical. For the most part, the posters I've purchased haven't been terribly valuable. (Some Pixar posters, 90s Disney, etc.) but my colleague has bought a number of "higher class" posters. But the measurements and NSS numbers have always checked out on his.
This Friday the 13th debacle is hysterical, by the way. It seems to me like he's the one who mistakenly bought second-issue posters and has been defending them and selling them ever since. Real? Yes. But not as real as he wants them to be.
In my own case, I really have nothing to lose. If he has a cheap poster I want that I haven't been able to find anywhere else I might as well go for it.
All this has made me wonder, are reprinted posters ever printed with the NSS number?

What posters are you referring to, if you don't mind my asking...? Of course repros have an NSS number, if the folks printing it are in fact printing an NSS numbered poster...that would be the point, to make it as authentic as possible in terms of its 'authenticity'.

Since Eggy is not a member of this forum, I had to go to another forum and steal one of his famous rants. I like this one because he mentions me and I'm a little vain that way. I AM GREG EGBERT , I AM SINGULAR DUDE YOU DEFINITELY AREN'T ME ! , I JUST WANT PEOPLE WHO DO A SEARCH UNDER MY NAME TO SEE MORE THEN JUST WHAT THIERRY AND ANTHONY AND THE FEW OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT ME . THE FACT THAT THESE LOSERS ARE ONLY NOTICABLE IN THE POSTER BUSINESS HERE AT THE MOVIEPOSTERFORUM IS EVIDENT TO ANYONE OF SUBSTANCE IN THE BIZ . THE FACT THAT WHAT THEY SAY IS SO SLOPPY A FABRICATION LIKE THE SPECIES II BLURB IS PLAIN ENOUGH PROOF ESPECIALLY AFTER I'VE EXPOSED THESE FRAUDS , THEY ARE THE SLEAZY NO INTEGRITY LOUDMOUTH DOUCHE BAGS IN THE BIZ NOT ME - ME - CHECK ME OUT READERS OF THIS http://shop.vendio.com/comicod . THIS WEBSITE IS QUITE OBVIOUSLY THE NICEST ON THE INTERNET BAR NONE ! ANYONE DISAGREE ? I'D SERIOUSLY LOVE TO BE TOLD OF ONE BETTER , MY PRICES , MY SELECTION, MY HIGH RESOLUTION SCANS ON ALMOST ALL 13,500 ITEMS - MANY WITH MULTIPLE CLOSE-UPS - IS UNSURPASSED . MY WHOLESALE LIST OF THE 2400 TITLES FROM THE LAST 30 YEARS I HAVE IN LARGE QUANTITY IS ALSO UNSURPASSED , ONE DEALER HAS 1.7 MILLION POSTERS FROM THIS PERIOD BUT HIS OPERATION IS A TRAIN WRECK , ISN'T IT? THE ONLY OTHER MAJOR WHOLESALER I KNOW IS PAUL SUMMMERS AND HE USUALLY STOCKS A POSTER FOR BETWEEN 15 TO 25 SECONDS . I HAVE APPRX. 70 PERCENT OF THE TITLES I HAD FOR SALE 20 YEARS AGO STILL ! THERE IS NO COMPARISON TO ANYONE ELSE . I AM THE MOST IMPORTANT SOURCE FOR MOVIE POSTERS FROM THE LAST 30 YEARS , SO IF YOUR IN THE BUSINESS , DON'T BE PUT OFF BY THESE ARROGANT CLOWNS ANTHONY AND THIERRY - THEY'RE NOT BEING HONEST WHEN THEY MAKE COMMENTS , I TAKE SOME TIME TO SHIP ORDERS BY GOLLY I DO !! And a great answer by Dave of Cinemasterpieces. Classic moments of poster forums.
all of this has been documented before here on this board BY OTHERS.....not by me.
I'll just sum up for those of you who may not have been around or have forgotten:
if you want fakes and reprints.....call egbert. ask him about his manhattan and friday the 13th restrikes.
if you want rude behavior........call egbert
if you want the worst customer service ever.......call egbert
if you want to order a near mint to mint poster and receive a VG poster, and then call to complain only to be laughed at and be told you don't know what you are talking about....call egbert.
if you want to order a poster, never receive it, and have egbert claim he sent it......give him a call
if you want to order 5 posters and only receive 3, and call to ask where your other two posters are only to be told that they were mispriced and you owe more money....then call egbert
if you want someone to belch and burp at you on the phone....call egbert
if you want someone to leave you a 40 minute message on your answering machine that sounds like it came from a crack addict, ask egbert to call you back.
ask him why he was kicked off ebay a few times
ask him why he isn't allowed to advertise in movie collectors world.
ask him why he has burned so many other dealers and collectors.
look at his pathetic ebay feedback
or, forget all this and ignore all the warning signs.

I am Greg Egbert. I am a singular dude [and/so] you definitely aren't me! I just want people who search my name to see more than just what Thierry and Anthony (among others) are saying about me. The fact that these losers are only noticeable in the poster business here at The Movie Poster Forum is evident to anyone of substance in the biz. The fact that what they say is [a] sloppy fabrication, like the "Species II" blurb, is plain enough proof; especially after I've exposed these frauds. They are sleazy, loud-mouth douchebags with no integrity in the biz - but not me. To all those reading, check my website: http://shop.vendio.com/comicod. This website is quite obviously the nicest on the internet - bar none! Does anyone disagree? I'd seriously love to be shown a better outlet. My prices, my selection, my high-resolution scans on almost all 13,500 items (many with multiple close-ups), is unsurpassed. My highly-stocked wholesale list of 2,400 titles from the last thirty years is unsurpassed. One dealer has 1.7 Million posters from this period but his operation is a train wreck, isn't it? The only other major wholesaler I know is Paul Summers and his posters are typically only available for periods ranging from fifteen to twenty-five seconds. I maintain approximately seventy percent of the titles I had stocked twenty years ago. No comparison can be made to anybody else. I am the most important source for movie posters from the last thirty years, so if you're in the business, don't be put off by these arrogant clowns (the aforementioned Thierry and Anthony). They're not being honest when they make comments. I take some time to ship orders, by golly I do, and places like the [gentleman] at movieposters.com and many others are [irate]. I don't ship until I have been paid, which is evidently not fast enough to their liking. If these poster peons wanted to actually point out something negative and true about me, I would encourage them to do so. Until them, let them whine about how long it takes me to ship until I increase my staff power. If you want my low prices and great stuff, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH. I had to retype that nonsense just to understand a damn word. I know eleven year olds who can write more competently than that. It's shocking that this is the same man whom I've been doing business with. Can somebody who is apparently so successful really be this stupid? I'm very glad I made this thread, because I've learned some very valuable information here. Maybe he's trying to make a new name for himself, but I've never spoken to him over the phone and only had brief e-mail correspondence before my problems were remedied. But anybody with a checkered history such as this is somebody I wouldn't consider safe. I've only purchased a few posters, but now I have to go back and check them out (smell them ) to see if it's a product of fraud.

WOW! T - Egbert was ticked off with you just a little! Although, saying that, he was ticked off with anyone who brought up a problem. I didn't know he was banned from advertising in MCW - Why is this? Based on his attitude? His bad selling? Or everything? From what Disheveled has said, he does seem to have changed for the better ... ... I'm not advocating his selling of fakes as originals mind. I wish he would have stopped typing in CAPS ALL THE TIME !!!!!!!!! Best, Adam

I know one of them is Movieposterbargains. You can tell they're his auctions from the following clues... 1. He'll start by guaranteeing the poster is "absolutely 100% authentic original" or something along those lines. At some point in the item description, he will also likely start typing in all caps. 2. His item photos will have a basic green-text water mark across them. Similar to this: This poster, by the way, I'm almost certain is a reprint or re-issue of some kind. My poster and most other posters I've handled (I was flipping them for profit for a while) only had ONE line of text/credits at the bottom of the poster. This one has two. Of the two versions of the poster I've seen, none of this variety ("Walt Disney Pictures Presents") have had two lines of credits.
