Hi all

I have been waiting two months for a refund from a seller who sent me a poster however when i got the tube the poster was not it.

Interestingly the other poster of the deal was in there, but not as described either. So before Christmas I sent the poster (singular) back and asked for a refund for both (£200)

I got back £100 immediately, but have been waiting two months for the other £100 as the seller says he is waiting for the royal mail to sort the claim This seems excessive and he provides no evidence of making a claim and no progress updates despite my continual chasing.

do you think 2 months is a long time to wait for my money back? If this was me, I would give the money back straight away and sort out the back end with the royal mail seperately. I know this guy is not short of money, and yet he seems happy to string me along

I would be interested to know what you think as I am smelling a rat here...

The Wonderful Royal Mail do drag these things out. That said it's up to him to sort you out, you should have been paid up straight away. If he's within a 30-40 mile distance just turn up with a Baseball bat, you'll be surprised how quick they find money then.

If it's further away try a few strongly worded Emails before going the extra mile's with your bat.

Paul is correct, it matters not what the seller is doing with Royal Mail as per claims. His responsibilty is to you direcvtly and Royal Mail has no business with you specifically.

the seller should be refunding your payment immediately once agreeing that there is a problem.

some sellers forget this basic tenet: we can't kick the can down the road. We are responsible and no third party has any business in between our business.

Of course, that's why people like myself, Bruce, Sean, Gene Arnold, Heritage, WELN, Morrie Everett etc etc etc have such great reputations.

obviously, some people have a more casual approach to how they do business and so, they get neg feedback

I think it's pretty cheap to file papers for the small claims court if you're not having success. Actually, even the threat of that might hurry things along...

No he hasnt and the due has seemingly been ingoring my emails. So I am now going to announce this sorry scumbag to you guys so you can be sure he doesnt do you over too

Russell Cherrington, based up in the North East of the UK, google him, I did, seems like a well know guy, I am sure he's not going to like it when i phone up the university he lectures at!

He teaches at the University of Cumbria, which is in the North-West.
I think he teaches at the Carlisle campus ...
... I'm sure he lives in that area also, or does he actually live in the North-East??

In the US it is called "false pretenses" file a report and bring him up on civil charges. Do not wait any longer. Have all your email documentation ready to go.
