The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Quad Style B
« on: February 02, 2011, 09:41:52 AM »
Over the next few months I intend to sell off my collection of posters which mainly consist of James Bond and Indiana Jones Quads and Onesheets.

I also have a few non related posters for sale too.

This is The Good, The Bad and The Ugly UK Quad. I believe that this is the style B Quad.
I have no in depth knowledge of the film although the information I have is from David Frangioni's Clint Eastwood Icon book Page 39 and he is an expert on the genre. I'm open to offers as I have no idea how much its worth.

If the picture doesnt come out in the post, please email me and I'll send a copy

Hi Paul,
Thats the one I have.
I dont know if its a re-release version or not, I'm just going with what is in the Clint Posters book as the guy is an expert.
If it is then thanks for letting me know, I'll do some more digging and speak to some of the guys at cinemaretro who I know and who did a dollars trilogy special.
Its certainly different to style A.

Hello dc, It's the same artwork just a different colour, why would they use the same artwork and call it a style B !! I am sure this is from the 70's release, maybe Terry can help out here.

In the mean time here's a pic of my first release, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks Paul,
I'm no expert on Clint, now Bond, thats different.....  ;)
I looked in the CinemaRetro special I have and the Clint icon book, but they both list it as style B and it is listed as 1966 in the book so maybe it was re-issued for a re-releadse that year, although that makes no sense to me.
I know the colouring on the style B is more in line with the other memorabilia issued like the soundtrack.

It would be great if someone could clarify when its from.

Hi, Paul!

I believe you are right - the yellow one is listed as a re-release on LAMP.

Sometimes, these 'Style A' and 'Style B' labels are simply used to differentiate between posters when re-release would be a more accurate description.

Best wishes,

Still for sale although price would now reflect this.

Thanks guys for the speedy help in this.

Thank you.

Its nice to know that there are genuine people out there willing to help.

As I said, my field is Bond and now I know this is a 1968 re-release acording to LAMP.

The (1968) date next to the film title on LAMP is actually the date of the original release - the film is always listed with the first release date next to the title, even on the pages which show the re-release posters.

For example, here's the LAMP entry for the re-release quad for THE GETAWAY.  As the date of the re-release is known in this instance, it is shown in the title text - however, you can see that the date in brackets next to the title at the top of the page is still the date of the original release ...
