Publicity department stuff, Back to the future3
« on: January 11, 2011, 02:00:28 PM »
I was going to post this in General discussion Movie Posters, as it's to do with them, but save's Holiday a job if it's in the wrong section.

Going through one of my last boxes, I found a whole host of film related items. The Trade ads, etc. There is also a whole load of stuff from a Publicity Department, inc letters discussing which poster was going to be used, and how it would look. There is 10"x8" transparence's which I think the posters were taken from. Designs for displays, too much to list so I have taken a few hurried photo's. It is most interesting even though the films are not the most sort after.

You do know that by posting this.... T is now going to break into your house and steal all the BTTF3 stuff for his Spielberg collection, don't you?

Cool stuff by the way.  I love seeing mock-ups for un-used posters!

All the 35mm slides are from Back to the Future 3 also. Part of their publicity Campaign it seems. There's a boat load of stuff, all printed with Universal Copy right.

The 10"x8" transparencies are first rate I just don't seem to be able to photograph them very well. They need to be back lit really.

Just cannot do the photo's justice.

They are credited to a guy called Ralph Nelson, if that name means anything to anyone.

Maybe should of been in the Clint Eastwood Thread!

Love seeing stuff like this.  Pieces that are part of the concept/design/production of a MP campaign are very interesting

Very cool Paul.  I have a question though - how do you just randomly forget you have stuff like this packed away in some box?

Oh wait, it's because your Quad collection outdoes everything else!  :-X

I picked these up in a auction lot about 2/3 years ago. I pulled out all the posters which is what I was mainly after, had a quick look through what was left and just left them in a box. As I'm almost finished sorting out my stills and autographs, this box was next so...

This is from a 1928 trade mag, just before the release in the U.K.
