We have averaged $6 million per year for SEVEN years!
« on: December 25, 2023, 10:15:59 AM »
My company's (eMoviePoster.com's) just-ended Sunday auctions (our final 2023 auctions) put us to right under six million dollars in sales for 2022 (a total of $5,986,116.00)!

This means we have averaged $6 million per year for SEVEN years and we keep setting LOTS of individual records!

But even more impressive is that in 2019 we held 140,000 auctions, while in 2020 we "only" had 100,000 auctions, and in 2021 we "only" had 75,000 auctions, and in 2022 we we "only" had 54,000 auctions and in 2023 we had 54,000 auctions.

This year we held around 50,000 auctions (I don't have the exact count) , and we still came close to our other $6 million+ years which had 75,000, 100,000, and 140,000 auctions!

And this year we had 4 major auctions during the year, while last year we had six major auctions, and yet we had almost as much overall sales with the same number of auctions.

This is because our selling price per auction keep rising drastically as the number of annual auctions we have run has fallen by two-thirds over 3 years (it has almost tripled)!

Why have we continued to have strong sales growth virtually every year, letting us grow in annual sales from $1,883,722.71 in 2002 to $5,986,116.00 this year with one-third the auctions?

There are seven reasons for this:
1) We far and away charge the lowest rates at every price level of any major auction, and we get higher prices overall than any other auction, when you compare "apples to apples and oranges to oranges" (even if you accept the many "false results" other auctions often report).

2) We do a better job of auctioning than any major auction (how buyers AND consignors are treated, before, during, and after every transaction).

3) We have very loyal bidders and consignors, many of whom we have dealt with for five or ten or more years, quite a few for nearly our entire 33 year history!

4) eBay continues to implode. They have no quality control over their sellers, so the good auctioneers get lumped in with the many bad ones, and their businesses continue to decline. Many former regular eBay bidders are now mostly only bidding with us, and many former eBay sellers are now mostly only selling through us!

5) Other online auction sites regularly alienate their consignors AND their bidders, due to many shady auction practices, including deceptive buyers premiums (that deceive sellers) and over-grading what they auction, and/or enhancing images and "missing" restoration or defects that their items have.

6) We have the best employees of any major movie poster auction, 21 in all. Over the years we have continually refined what we do, and all of our top employees have been here between ten and twenty years each!

7) We DON'T have fancy offices, showrooms, or exhibit space, or printed catalogs! We put all the savings from not having those things into having no buyers premiums, charging actual shipping cost and having 16 weeks of Pay and Hold, and many other ways that let our bidders and our consignors get a better deal than at any other auction!

What will the future hold? We don't know, so you will just have to come back here a year from now and find out! But we HAVE committed to keeping this company going exactly as it is for TWO more years (at least), so if YOU have excellent posters or related items to sell, we don't know why you would not immediately consign them to eMoviePoster.com, the #1 poster auction in the world, for 34 years!
We (eMoviePoster.com) hold 2,500 to 4,000 auctions every four weeks.
We have auctioned more movie paper for more money (in real sales) than any auction in the world.
We have the longest continuously running auctions of any auction, with over 1,914,280 to date from over 3,192 consignors.
