I just saw how extremely low many prices are on many of the 1,296 posters (U.S. and non-U.S., movie and NON-movie), lobby cards and SO much more in our December Major Auction in almost exactly ONE day from now, starting at 7 PM CT at https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/13.html

Of course, Breakfast at Tiffany's is, the classic 1961 Blake Edwards New York City romantic love triangle party girl comedy starring Audrey Hepburn (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role "as that delightful darling, Holly Golightly"), George Peppard (as Paul Varjak), Patricia Neal (as 2E Failenson), Buddy Ebsen (as Doc Golightly), Martin Balsam, Mickey Rooney (in yellowface as Mr. Yunioshi), Jose Luis de Vilallonga, John McGiver, and Orangey (as Cat)

The last example  of this six-sheet we auctioned was also NOT linenbacked, and in very similar condition ("very good", with VERY minor defects) and it sold for $12,305! And the two examples we auctioned before the last one were linenbacked and those sold for $11,000 and $11,554.  But the example ending in ONE day is currently at just $6,500 at https://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=6662763. That sure seems like an incredible discount to the last three examples if it ends there!

Of course, The Gold Rush is the classic 1925 Charles Chaplin silent Alaska Yukon rags-to-riches romantic slapstick comedy. This is surely Charlie Chaplin's greatest movie, and it is hard to argue with anyone describing it as the single greatest silent movie ever made, and both the movie and Chaplin are known the world over, even to people who have never seen this movie (but they certainly should see it!).

We auctioned this poster in 1993, when I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, was preparing auctions for Christie's Auction House in New York City. It was part of a remarkable find of mid 1920s movie posters, and included in that find were two examples of this poster, which had never before been seen in this hobby! THIS example was in FAR better condition than the other example, and the other example was sold privately, but this example auctioned at Christie's in 1993 for $70,700!

In the 30 years since, we know of no additional examples of this poster surfacing at auction or privately. Now, the person who purchased it in 1993 has reconsigned it to us, so it is still one of only two examples of this poster that we know of (and as we said above, this example is in FAR better condition than the other example, which required significant restoration). As we said in the description above, it certainly is reasonable to describe this movie as the greatest silent movie ever made, and similarly, it is certainly reasonable to describe this poster as the single most desirable silent movie poster there is (and if one does not purchase it from this auction, it might well be 30 more years before it comes to auction again).

It will surely be the "crown jewel" of the new owner's collection (no matter what other poster that person currently owns)! Yet the auction for this one-sheet at https://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=6663070, is currently at just $37,333, which is only slightly over HALF what it sold for 30 years ago, and would be an incredible steal if it ends there!

Of course, this is the classic 1951 Alexander Mackendrick Ealing Studios English science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy comedy  starring Alec Guinness.  This poster is the "country of origin" poster from this classic comedy, and it is the extremely rare first release British quad! We have only once before auctioned this first release British quad, and that was six years ago, and that example sold for $5,011. The person who purchased that example had it very nicely linenbacked, and has now reconsigned to us, so it is still the only example we have ever auctioned!

Incidentally, because it can be hard to tell if an English poster is ABSOLUTELY from the very first release, know that we ARE certain this is from the very first English release, because when we auctioned the first one, we checked with Sim Branaghan, the world's leading authority on British posters, and he assured us that it was absolutely from the first release. Yet this re-consigned example (which has been made better by being linenbacked and correcting its minor flaws) is currently at just $3,186 at https://auctions.emovieposter.com/Bidding.taf?_function=detail&Auction_uid1=6663490 which would also be an incredible steal if it ends there!

If you have looked over ALL of the 1,296 items closing tomorrow, and it seems like a truly remarkable selection of items that almost never come to auction, you are not mistaken! I have been in collectibles for 56 years (and a full-time movie poster auctioneer for 34 of those years) and I have NEVER seen such an amazing offering of so MUCH great movie paper and NON-movie posters remotely close to this in ANY one auction in ALL those years!

I picked out four of the more expensive items above to point out what great deals they are, and I could really go on and on about the many other incredible rarities closing in one day that are just as great bargains at the current high bid prices as the above four examples are, and of course I could give examples at EVERY price level! In fact, many of the biggest "steals" are on very low priced items, where I see items I would expect to see at $100 or more at just $20 to $30!
