Another poster collector comes out of the closet! Bruce Willis consigned this six sheet War of the Worlds to Heritage:

Wonder what else Willis has and what he will be selling.
That 6-sheet kicks ass.

These days, nearly every poster that I put down on my list is by Averardo Ciriello (and by Brini.. but I will leave Brini for another post)

The General Died at Dawn (Paramount, R-1957). Italian 4 - Foglio (55" X 78").

This is a black and white photo of a Wizard of Oz 40"x60" (from the pressbook).  Presumably none have survived:

This looks more like an advert in a magazine than a poster.

Louie, here's the 40x60 i was able to locate for OZ. It's not the most detailed as the scan wasnt all that clear, is a B/W image, but it is from the pressbook and is labeled as the "40x60 Oil Paint Process Display," to the left of the poster.

On the PB page, this piece was actually under a header called "Special Rental Accessories":

This, I'd love to see in full colour, that's for sure.  ;)

Except it's not (employing a Louis-esque snarky response):

HA! I don't make snarky comments, but that 40" X 60" is U-G-L-Y!

That's only because you are seeing it in black and white. Imagine how incredible it looked in the original purple!

I watched wizard of oz last week.
If there is no personal nostalgia I can't see the appeal at all.
The only bit that got me was when the lion leaps out of the window, I did laugh.
Oh and the monkeys were pretty good.
But really.

Have to say I really like the concept behind this poster, quite clever.

Congratulations Keith. I don't know if you had a hand in the idea behind these posters but it's pretty original. Do you know if they were printed up for use?

Which film trailer did you watch? I don't think it's a comedy, although I guess we all have a different sense of humour  ;D

Perhaps Stew watched the trailer for 'Peeples' and not 'You're Next'?

Keith - some cool posters and the film seems to be getting good reviews too, I read one in the magazine 'Little White Lies' that gave it 4 out of 5 for enjoyment and said "it's bags of fun. And nasty too". You should ring the marketing bods and get some of the posters to sell to us :) Good luck at the box office.
