Well, he is made up of so many bits and pieces that it must be hard to keep track...

So on this logic Frankenstein's monster is just black + white?

In 1933 at Universal, yep.

In Mary Shelly's novel, the monster was described as:  an 8-foot-tall (2.4 m), hideously ugly creation, with translucent yellowish skin pulled so taut over the body that it "barely disguised the workings of the arteries and muscles underneath"; watery, glowing eyes, flowing black hair, black lips, and prominent white teeth.

The whole bolt in the neck and stitched face was a Universal Horror invention that took on a life of its own

Franky wasn't the only character to change in appearance due to the B&W medium either... when looking at the Bride of Frankenstein marketing materials there is zero doubt that the titular character was a red head.  However, if you search on "bride of frankenstein costume" you only get back results for black wigs with white shocks.

Elsa Lanchester was a redhead.

So it makes sense that her added "bride" wig, would match her own hair color (and the color poster art, as well).  ;)

Bringing it back to the discussion at hand - is not blue/grey/green daybill much closer to a likeness of a "black & white" Monster vs. the angry red Monster on the insert?   :-*

The daybill is a great poster no doubt.  But there is country of origin, and then there is everything else.  It doesn't matter if you buying a Metropolis, a Dracula, a Hammer, a Godard or a Fellini.  That's just the way it is.  Considering how similar they are I don't think you are going to get anyone but the most diehard Aussie lovers who would pick the daybill over the insert.  Sure a few might on aesthetics alone... I happen to like the colors on the insert but I can see how some might not.  But at the end of the day, if cost were no object I would guess the insert would almost always be more desirable.  And remember, desire is driven by more than pure aesthetics... it might be looks, value, rarity, prestige, you name it.  The daybill has all of those things, but the insert has more.

IMHO of course.

The original 1931 US Frankie posters - plus the 1938rr three sheet, which is the only surviving three sheet from any Frankie release - proportionally-sized:

EMP is auctioning an unrestored half sheet from The Most Dangerous Game (1932). I had not previously noticed posters/ads from this movie before but they are very cool:

Movie has a great atmosphere to it as well (even if it gets a little silly once they leave the mansion!)

Yes, but when they leave the mansion, those are the same sets they re-used for Kong.. :D I quite like comparing what was shot where..

A great film for sure.
Fay Wray is always worth watching and - like Paul said - watching her run around Skull Island is a bonus.
Banks chews up the rest of the scenery.
A winner.
 cheers

Yeah, I've read a lot of criticism of Leslie Bank's over the top performance... I happened to love it.
