Incidentally, it is nearly 1am in the UK. And I have been informed that tomorrow this one (me, yo, ella, la tercera parte ) have to be at 7am at work :-\ and I am still reading these posts :-\ :-\ :-\

I think this forum is TOO addictive. Where do I need to go to complain?

On a MORE positive note. I am pleased to inform to whoever cares to read this that I am NO longer a HOARDER. It reads CURATOR (so you better watch out now).

I wonder when it will simply read "wishful-thinker obsesive collector-film & APF junkie " :-\

The end

Love em both.  The window card is a local theatre-produced version though right?

Chris, the WC was "created by "Woolever Press" of Los Angeles, California. Woolever Press created one-sheets and window cards for movies that were distributed to theaters who (for one reason or another) had difficulty obtaining studio issue paper. Woolever Press posters were created during a movie's first release."*

*info found here: http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archiveitem/4705541.html  Thanks, Bruce.

Bruce, were Woolever items distributed to local theaters in LA, only? Or to theaters nationwide?

Each company like Woolever Press, Leader Press, The Other Company, etc had a region they sold to. Theaters ordered from them when they needed posters in a hurry. They were set up because that was before NSS distributed posters and those companies had posters from all studios, which meant it was easier to order from them than from each studio's nearest exchange. Once NSS started distributing posters, that put those companies out of business.

Many thanks Bruce. I found this very helpful. I always thought that these printing companies only worked for certain studios eg (Continental Litho only for Warner Bs), so they didn't supply other posters from other the studios. It is good to learn these things. The more the better.

When buying a vintage poster I always think that it is a shame how much of their history is lost, or maybe it is just me. I am always curious to know what happened to it. I am just an emotional collector i suppose. ;)

I sometimes think more is know about how the Ancient Pyramids were built 6,000 or so years ago than is known about how movie posters were printed and distributed 60 to 100 years ago!

Yes, she does look like Betty Boop. Beautiful posters :). Love Betty and Keaton. They do make a strange couple though. He looks ever so sad  :)

This was an actress named Marion Byron. She doesnt look quite as "Boop-ish" in person  ;D :

Some of the posters sold in Jan-Feb 2013 by bnc6 on Ebay, supposedly found in an old attic of a movie theater. (Where?)

These pics will soon disappear from eBay so I've downloaded them and fixed them up a bit.
