Can someone explain this to me?  Horkey's Return of the King.  I don't see any Lord of the Rings in this thing, just branches.

What is it?

Giant eagle taking out a dragon.
Interesting rendering.
Pure style over substance.

Although it is stylized heavily .. The scene is pretty well known .. Even Sideshow thought enough of it to make a statue of that battle.

As far as symbolism goes, it's one scene that pretty much sums up the entire trilogy.

Only Comic Con.  It's close to me, I have a professional badge, I make fun of all the idiots in costumes, in and out.  I go with a big group of DreamWorks employees.  Plus, we drink a lot.  Win Win.

Oh yeah, I kinda see a dragon now... In the branches.  Horkey is all the same to me.  I know some people say that about Stout, but Stout appeals to me and Horkey is just too messy.

The series is really about a dog fight? ;) And here I thought it was about the journey.  :P

I got the 1st Kong.  Didn't like the 2nd one and hated the Iron Giant colors.  The design is great, like most of Durieux' stuff, but the colors are too 60s for me.

I bought the Kongs, firefox and paypal were not playing nicely after the paypal site rework, so that cost me the Giant.

Be sure to clear out all of your old cookies and saved date from FF. I had trouble with it as well until I did that.

When my wife and I were in Austin last month, I held one of the Iron Giants and they are just terrific...beautifully vivid too, which the jpg doesn't capture if course.

I don't really get a 60s vibe from it, but I support 60s vibes/decor so who knows...

I can't stand 60s decor.  I'm more of a turn of the century, late 1800 kinda guy.  All of our furniture is from that era.  So this probably explains that.
