I can't understand why people are complaining about this latest release. An art-only screenprint of what I consider to be one of the best bits of art by one of the best movie poster artists of all time. Now if only I had the slightest chance of snagging one...

Here's the real problem. There are 199 ways to be a bastard and here's one of them:

I just see it as a completely missed opportunity. He has to have a boatload of artwork that wasn't already used.

This only reason anyone likes this image is because the studio didn't give Drew enough time to ruin it by slapping on a rose-cheeked 'Thing' face... likely similar to Robin Williams from the Hook one sheet...

He'll be lucky to get pennies on the dollar for the ones in direct sunlight.

Wanted to ask, the people who care about Mondo prints, I was thinking of swapping my Silver Metropolis (Ansin) for a GID Struzan.
Problem is I love the Metopolis, it's on my wall. I also have a gold version sitting in the flat file. I don't like the colour scheme as much but it's pretty rare and I might regret it one day. Also does anyone know why the Thing doesn't have a title on it?

I'm a sucker for the GID inks, love The Thing as a movie, love Struzan and collect loads of his movie posters, but the Metopolis is probably one of the best Mondo prints out there.

Love Struzan and prints too, but I would not trade any of the Ansin's for The Thing.

Yeah, that's the way I think it's going. Guess I will never own the Struzan GID.
Can't score off Mondo anymore, in fact I never try these days.
Normally go for the 2nd market but I fear this will be out of my price range.

 ;D

Just can't let them go, and believe me I would LOVE the Struzan Thing but just can't do it.
It's on the wall to stay:

Yes I know, strange one to have in between but I can't make my mind up which other Ansin to frame, Bride or Wolfman!

I would totally let go of the Iron Man.  It doesn't fit your wall, IMO.

Well, not quite...  I bought Struzan's reg, and it is quite nice.  Its texture is way more interesting than the OS.

I gave up a little while ago, buying originals as I never knew whether they were originals or reprints.
Kinda had a few bad experiences and lost faith in it.
Last one I picked up was this:

But yes, you're right, I may be getting a little blinded by it all.
Then again, as I said, I'm a sucker for a GID print.

Wow, what a freak, who would do something like that?  :)

I have seen that 'tour' before, Germain writes for SlashFilm and does a pretty good job there. Met him briefly and he is a heck of a nice guy...been collecting Mondo for some time. While all the stuff up like that isn't my cup of tea, I love his genuine enthusiasm.

It's funny how different collectors can be.  I have all of these prints, but I would never ever put stuff on the wall like this guy does.  Maybe one or two, but that would be it.

Yeah, I was more or less referring to Mel's walls, same thing with movie posters. To each their own, is the bottom line.

The only Mondo poster that is currently framed is the Jay Ryan Breakfast Club, it looks pretty great in the basement where it is.

I have a bit of both .. I have my theater room with nothing but Movie prints all over but the rest of the house just has art prints no movie posters outside of the stray movie poster leaning against the wall waiting to be shuffled into another room. :)

Buy her a copy of "Fifty Shades of Grey" and you'll be even.  Doesn't matter where you get your appetite, as long as you come home for dinner  8)
