I don't feel to bad for you west coasters (especially in LA), you get all kinds of cool screenings (Kill Bill, etc) and openings (Gallery 1988) to attend and get things firsthand and in person.

Yeah?  Have you seen the crap to come out of 88 lately?  It's been a year since I bought something from that place.

Did you wake up on time and failed, or were you still asleep tomorrow?

I picked up the Drive print today .. anyone else ?

I think Kens work is pretty awesome .. I wasnt a super huge fan of the movie though .. So Taylor sold me on this print.

Hmmm, very cool.  Of course somebody taught me a little trick for finding the large images.....

For once, Mondo was quick sending out the Drive posters.  Not the usual two month wait.

It is much nicer in person than on pictures.  Taylor did a great job.

And theyre up!!! easy pass on both for me .. and I feel that the "surprise" print for 300 is a major missed opportunity.. IMO .. it just doesnt fit the feel of the film all that well even though I feel that he picked a great scene! It just doesnt feel "dark" enough for me.

I bought the 300, which I like a lot, even though I hated the movie.  I guess it's the opposite for me.

I'm with ya T, the film is daft, but I like this print as it's a cool image and I like the simplicity of it...title and credits always a winner for me too. Shame it isn't 36 x 24".

For me I think its something as simple as colors .. had they used a darker paper to match the scene or the movie more it would have made a big difference. Then there's always the artistic view, so anything is fair game.. I just felt the scene was originally at night with snow falling .. and it really sets a mood. The color of the paper takes it the other direction for me... meh .. Im glad youre happy with your purchase though!! :D

Speaking as someone who has 20+ 24x36 prints hanging in one room .. Ive actually started to see the beauty of the smaller format of 18x24 .. and its not just to hang even more in the same space :P .. I have a few smaller prints and I have grown to like them just as much sometimes more than the larger format.

FA1 - Yeah, that's a good point. I think it's because 24 x 36 is nearer one sheet size, so I kinda prefer it. It's a small grumble really, I have a handful of 18 x 24 prints now, so it's a good excuse to get a frame and put some of them in it :D

PS - is this the first print from this artist? Good to see a few new faces if so. EDIT - Ah, I can see from T's link that he has done a few beforehand.

No artwork can compensate for the simply terrible 300...
