A cool Jurassic Park poster by Francesco Francavilla   thumbsup.gif

Personally, I don't get this one. Just not my taste, I guess.
I did, however, snag one of these: ;D

It's bronze.

Created by the Stan Winston Studios and cast from his original maquette that he did for the film.

That is super awesome!!!  thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

You don't post many of your own items, Jeff, but when you do, they are outstanding.
It would be an awesome pairing, that statue and the poster. Mind if I borrow it for a while? :P

Thanks again, Mike.

And Ted, from the base to top of its head is 16.5" high and from the tip of his tail to his nose, he measures 28.5" long.

I have never seen the above movie but having been a child of the late 70's/80's, I do recognize the Klaatu, Barada, Nikto phrase as those were action figures from Return of the Jedi---some of Jabba's alien guards on the sail barge and skiff.  Kind of a cool homage by Lucas.

Good catch on the Jedi link there.

This one bothers you more than that Flash Gordon, Thierry???

Yes, because I don't give a shit about Flash Gordon but I love The Day...  It pisses me off that they are fucking with such a great property with a design my 6 year old nephew would have done better.

Nope. It just stares out from the wall, crying ever so slightly about itself.

I was also really disappointed by this print. Knowing that I'll never be able to afford original paper for the older sci-fi movies, I've been looking to prints. There's so much more that could have been for this one, sadly.

So true, Mike.

I'm guessing it was the artist's intent but it has no dimension to it. The image looks totally flat, and has that "stencil look."

Sure, no problem.

@Jeff - Yes, I'm sure it's exactly how the artist intended. Everyone's got different styles and tastes, this just didn't appeal to mine. Doesn't 'feel' like the movie to me. More like a blueprint. And having the words could be neat, but not the way they were done. Again, all just my opinion. Obviously others felt differently (or are hoping for a flip), as it still sold out.

Right, Mike.

"Beauty" + eye + beholder = appeal (or not) to any kind of art/print/poster idea.   ;)
