They sold those Saul Bass tshirts some time ago.

Lon looks a little surprised or startled here.... maybe Bela gave him a little, unexpected shove.  ;D

Is this really bad or do I need to put my glasses on?

Not a fan of the print. Now the creepshow on the other hand was decent. But again the is just my opinion.

None for me this time around.  Creepshow is just okay, IMO.  Not worth adding to my collection.

This is an interesting concept for Gremlins. Me likes the design.

I would have bought Creepshow if not for the smaller size, so that made it a pass. I don't care for the Gremlins at all. I whiffed on the other, although the composition is setup awful, I do like the image content.

Saw the title 'THE MATRIX' and had high-ish hopes for something good.
Alas, all it gave me was sad face.

I hadn't seen any Mondos in person until this past week at Cinevent
I have to admit, some of them were quite outstanding in the printing techniques used and looked great with a particular mention for the poster to This Island Earth which I liked more than the Karloff "Frankenstein" which was right next to it

my gripe would be that Mondos seem to be something of a "closed system" whereby they are not available to everyone when they come up for first sale (selling out in minutes to what seems to be the same people all the time) and that there isn't a dealer's wholesale availability list direct from the publisher (or dealer pre-order)

Yep, they definitely look much better in hand than they do on a screen. The colours on This Island Earth are really vibrant. Did you see any others you liked, Rich?

The scrap to try and buy them is frustrating (particularly when a lot of the buyers are just buying to flip), but for me it's not that different to buying 'proper' movie posters in that if I miss on the Mondo drop, I have to compete to buy them with other collectors on auction sites. At least I have an opportunity of getting them from the source...I don't with 'proper' movie posters (my connections in the 'proper' movie poster world are rubbish!)

Dan Strebin had just a few Tob and seeing as Dan is always next to me at the show I focused right onto TIE.
he also had Good, Bad, Ugly which I thought was only okay.
Frankenstein was nice, but all the colors were muted of course for the scene, whereas the TIE was incredibly colorful & bright

I know I've seen some online I thought sucked, so it's obvious that the range of quality from an artistic point doesn't always agree with me

I wish I could get them for my auctions, but I will be getting other stuff soon from other producers.

to answer your question.. I used to be able to buy posters from distribution employees, but that has completely ended and I have to do some extra work to get newer modern stuff when I want it. I try to get all Tarantino stuff and my success rate is under 50% on titles since Grindhouse.

Yeah. bummer. The Matrix print is really Derpy  ;)

Looks like a leftover from the recent show.  Maybe the licensing wasn't finished by the show date.  One the plus side, if they now have the Matrix licensing, maybe they will take another shot at it down the road.

I don't see the problem.  Although, to be honest, I haven't bought much this year and I won't buy anything tomorrow.

Fully agree. I acquired a Forbidden Planet a couple months ago and when I saw it in person the colors were just awesome.
Others that have impressed me (that I own) are Beetlejuice and Scott Pilgrim.

I hope so. The Nebuchadnezzar is not the first thing I think of when someone mentions The Matrix.

Really disappointed with what I am seeing of Taylors posters for his show. Don't get me wrong, there am some I am going after, but as a whole, feel a little let down with the anticipation I had for this one.

http://www.mondoarchive.com

The above is a good starting point Rich, although it's not comprehensive unfortunately (some gallery shows and older prints are missing). It's also a little scant on details.

I think FallenAngel on here has a site, but I think he stopped updating it. The expresso beans database is comprehensive, but it's more useful when you have a specific artist or film in mind (it's a bit big to provide an overview unless someone knows some clever tricks I don't).

Not sure how far this will get you or how different it is from the Mondo Archive, but here is a search of 'mondo' on EB:

You can always check my little collection.  I have some 200 Mondos or something.
