Too many prints.

Not unique enough or high enough quality.

Also, they need some new licenses. How many Marvel Universe, Halloween, Alien(s), Friday the 13th and Drive posters do we really need?  There is some really cool stuff from Mondo and others already out there, and anything new is measured against those.  For me to replace my Miller or Taylor Halloween, the next Halloween better be fu!Ki$g amazing!

Very little they have done this year outside of the Durieux and the Disney show has made me look twice.

But I guess they still sold out, so cha-ching$.  No need to change anything.

Agreed on all counts.

I just checked my order history and I've bought 4 posters this year...3 were posters leftover from the Durieux show and one that I was PBing for a friend. I bought that many in January 2013 alone.

As an online customer, I feel like online customers are an afterthought this year. I'm voting with my wallet (e.g. I'm going to pass on the Taylor drop as I'm a bit sick of having to pay flippers from Austin $$ while Mondo sell me the stuff they passed on), but the prints still sell out so it's not much of a protest really!

I don't mind that much as it's more money in my bank account instead of on pretty paper that I don't really need.

Quality has gone down drastically in the past 2-3 years.  At the same time, EB has grown and so has Mondo's fan base.  For people who have been collecting since 2006-2007, the change is brutal, but for all the new collectors, it's business as usual.  They don't know better.

Well, the good thing is there is something for everyone now, more than ever.

I liked the older usual suspects of artists much more over this new breed, though.

Two more stinkers tomorrow, I put these at or damn near the bottom of this years output. They need to take Jay Shaw out of the barn, his work simply doesn't fit the product and I wouldn't pay the materials to print on for anything he has done let alone $35 + ship.

While I am glad to see comic artists, Mignola would be about the last person on my wish list. At least it is stylistic I suppose.

while Mike Mignola is a fabulous comic artist, his design on that poster is downright awful.

I applaud the person who financially backed this print, because they truly have money to burn.

The pan faced bride and the creature up top, with the under bite, are true man-made creations!

Elsa Lanchester and James Whale would be insulted...   ;)

I have no doubt that they will.  People are buying Mondo nowadays just to buy Mondo, regardless of artists or quality.

Aside from the Disney and Durieux collections, this year has been horrendous so far, yet they have sold out of everything and the EB freakbase is as frantic as ever.

Was there ever any doubt?

There are only 2 things in life that are certain:
 - death
 - Mondo drops will sell out

I really like it to be honest...not in love with it as it is far from a home run, but I do prefer it to everything Mondo has put out since the Durieux show, which I thought was exceptional top to bottom.

For this Bride poster, I dig Mignola's style and thought he nailed the feeling of the film with it better than past attempts. We have the Ansin/Grey's Anatomy take, the Moss simplistic take, the Tong huge spine take (not a fan of that one), yet this one seems to sum up all parts of the movie for me. Mignola's horror/vintage/60s/animated style serves the title very well, I feel. Frank being her 'dress' is a nice subtle touch as well.

Main detriment that I have is that the font and title design seem like an afterthought...and all that space at the bottom is begging for full credit treatment like the Moss.

Will post pics of the actual print when I get it...maybe some will come around, or if not, hate it a bit less.

Ben i do appluad the critic of the print honestly. I have never been a Mignola fan and it just felt like a cover rip from a hell boy. i just feel cheated when there is a quality title that i think they whiffed on after backing the product for so long. we all would like to run the show for a bit..

my take...

frank miller sin city print
mark silvestri xmen print
todd mcfarlane amazing sm2 print
mignola i would have preferred a hellboy print

how cool would that be to let the heavy hitter comic artist tackle a movie poster for a film they worked on the print medium for.
