GelBacking 1 sheet
« on: January 18, 2022, 06:49:24 PM »
Anyone in the forum, other than myself, ever had a 1 sheet movie poster gel-backed (gel resized)?

Thanks, in advance

Thanks Zilla for the reply.  My 1 sheet came out very nice (done in 2014) and the paper feels very much like the original.  It was shipped back to me rolled and measured 27 1/4 x 41 after the process.  Did you have similar results?

Yes, pretty much the same. The bath will slightly resize the poster so that it won't measure a perfect 27" x 41" anymore, but when they peel the backing off the tiny layer that is left for strengthening is incredibly thin and the paper feels nearly identical. But it's very strong, without the negative stigma of linenbacking and  for many pieces it can flatten the folds of posters so well as to make them nearly invisible.
