Swedish Poster Experts?
« on: October 30, 2010, 10:00:48 PM »
And if you are not an expert, can you tell me about this poster.....year of release, etc?  My guess was 50s sometime, but that is a complete shot in the dark.

All I know about it is that it is for Modern Times (obviously, it is Swedish, and it sold for $7).  Unfortunately, I did not receive a password in time to bid on it.

It sure looks like an original Swedish stolpe from 1931 with a great image (unlike most stolpes) and if so it was an unbelievable steal!

I'm sorry Scan, but at least we know there's one guy out there with a HUGE grin on his face right now!

Looks like http://www.nordicposters.com/cgi-bin/seek?seek=Moderna+tider sold one at some point...unfortunately the links on their page appear to be broken so there is not much info.

Maybe you could contact them though?

Good find Chris. They have it as an original from 1936, so I'd say that is likely the case (since they clearly mark all the re-releases on that page). Of course it could possibly be some sort of repro, but one would have to see it in person, or a much better photo, to know that.
